I'm still waiting to be called in for my clutch replacement. Why does it take so long? It can't be lack of parts, like it was with the airbag recalls a few years back.

Good luck with yours. Here's the relevant emails from my exchange when I got my notice.

Aaaaaaand I got my Jeep back! A brand new clutch and rear main seal courtesy of 19A recall, she drives…… the same.

Aside from taking 2 weeks start to finish, this was a superb outcome. My dealership was not impacted by the CDK ransomware attack. A set of bolts was not included in the clutch replacement set and they had to get them which was the stated reason for the delay. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In all seriousness, and it might just be the 2 weeks playing w my mind but pedal feels firmer and clutch feel is more apparent. That could be from just fresh unworn clutch material. I did have a concerning shudder w the original clutch when starting off in 1st gear which now feels gone? Time will tell

I just got mine back today … 2023 Mojave with 21k miles. Clutch feels 99% the same. Maybe it catches slightly earlier on the clutch pedal (maybe I’m just paying too much attention to it). At a complete stop, the clutch pedal feels lighter than before, which I don’t like, but that could be it needs to break in. Outside of that, it’s 99% the same.

Anyone else get theirs done?

Well, I spoke with my local svc dept today and the parts came in. I am scheduled to have mine done next Wednesday. They said it should take a couple of days and are providing a loaner.

Mine is a '21 Mojave with 26k. I sure wish I was hearing y'all say that the clutch felt heavier or firmer or something positive.

I had originally asked them if 19A would cover the labor to install if I provided a heavier clutch from another source...... they said no.

Anyway, here goes..............

They can do it in 8 hours if everything goes smoothly. Do yourself a huge favor and double check the torque specs when you get home. There are a few stories on here of things coming loose.

Back in February 2023, the Stellantis-controlled Jeep brand issued recall number 23V-116 comprising 69,201 manual-equipped units of the Wrangler utility vehicle and Gladiator pickup truck. As it happens, the clutch assembly's intermediate pressure plate may overheat. A fractured plate could result in cracks or holes in the transmission case.
Heated debris expelled from the transmission bellhousing is one thing, and losing motive power while driving at speed on the motorway is a serious concern in its own right. Initially, the folks at FCA US LLC didn't have a remedy available for the described problem. After much testing, it was decided to replace the clutch assembly and a software update.

What kind of update? Think escalating audible and visual warnings when the inner pressure plate temperature rises to fracturing levels. Although the six-speed manual comes from Japan's Aisin, the pressure plate and disc are supplied by Schaeffler Group USA Inc.

Fast forward to August 2024, and the Jeep brand has determined that 94 previously remedied Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles may experience an improper function of the engine speed reduction feature. This may lead to an engine stall without prior warning, thus increasing the risk of a crash. This handful of 4x4 vehicles was produced for the 2021 model year.

The production dates for the Gladiator (14 units affected) range from September 12, 2020 through October 28, 2021, whereas the Wrangler (80 units) is listed with August 20, 2020 through December 11, 2021. As you might have guessed by now, the remedy comes in the form of a new software update.
