That’s one reason I got the SOTF tune was so I could roll around on stock power level But I end up putting it on the second or third tune most the time šŸ˜‚ so much fun
no
Wait!!! I just noticed … In your video you’re getting 24.5mpg AVG towing a Basecamp ?!?! Is your Basecamp the 16 or 20 footer? When did you last reset your MPG display?

what a coincidence, I too have an ecodiesel in Phoenix. I just brought home a used airstream I picked up in LA.

Truck got very hot but never a derate. Saw coolant creep to about 240 and oil temps approaching 260. But this was a longish climb out of San Diego up past alpine. Flat towing was totally controlled at reasonable temperatures. The weather was quite warm that weekend and about 110 when I dropped into the desert.

The airstream weight about 4700lbs empty with a total GVWR of 6000 on a pair of 3500lb axles. I was traveling with a full fresh water tank of 39 gallons (300lbs or so).

my jeep is stock with about 6000mi on the odometer with 35ā€ BFG KO2s

The truck towed well, but the cooling system is a massive disappointment. Power is sluggish from a complete stop, but this is true unloaded. However accelerating from 15-65mph to enter the freeway is impressive. I’d say acceleration is on par with my unloaded jeep LJ and MPG was actually better than my LJ.

I am considering is tune, I have a duplicated PCM sitting in its Mopar box ready to go, debating GDE or EOC stage 2.

If I keep this trailer, I may regear to 4.56 and look into the auxiliary radiator thing, which turns out is made near Phoenix.

PS: I initially used a Curt wireless brake controller, great concept but a little crude on the brake control, maybe it was defective but it would lock up the trailer at low speeds occasionally. I JUST installed the Mopar brake controller and returned the curt.
I'm down in Maricopa. Go EOC stage2, +40hp and trans tune and don't look back. I wish I would've done it sooner. Trying to talk my wife into letting me do her Wrangler as well

Reached out to EOC with some questions, apperently their exhaust is back ordered … but I’m glad I got some fellow zonies running this tune with good success … I’m leaning this direction, it’s just in my mind the GDE feels ā€œsafeā€.

Same here. I almost pulled the trigger this year on GDE, but would love the full benefits of a freed up engine. Told myself to wait a year and do more research.
Would love more input from people who have either one.

So I pushed the gladiator a little hard. Went up to the mountains (Payson/Happy Jack) with some serious climbs and 90-95 degree weather … I seemed to hit about 242/262 water/oil temps on the way up… on longer climbs I lowered speed to 45mph. My confidence is a little shattered, but I’ll be looking to get that tune, and AUX cooler… of course I’ll also play dumb and report it to jeep as a ā€œdefectā€ so that hopefully they see the occurrence of running hot and hope they do something about it.

as a reminder, I’m only towing about 5000lbs and hauling 2 adults and a bed full of camping gear, which is fairly light except for the ice chest. Well within the limits … I’d assume 200lbs in the bed, 400lbs of humans in the cab, 650lb tongue weight and 5000lbs worth of trailer.
