Will disconnecting the antenna cause 2024 gladiator to brick?

I disconnected my antenna upon purchase. At 3003 miles, while driving on highway, vehicle lost power and quite an assortment of dash lights appeared.
I checked the codes with my Tazer. The issues identified did not compute, given that it had been running normal ( and getting approximately 19mpg).
It did this episode, multiple times till i got home.
Connected the antenna and the vehicle still randomly goes into limp mode.




Update:
Vehicle is at dealership.
Dealership has reproduced failure.
Dealership cannot determine the problem since it is intermittent.
Dealership says:
PCM 5Volt output glitches on B side of CANbus

Service tech said their "last" issue like this took 6months to resolve, by replacing wire harness.

Perhaps, you haven't tried disconnecting your vehicle GPS antenna?
Try it. See how many miles you travel before vehicle malfunctions.


You may need a better antenna,
But big bro doesn't.

A large majority of us do not have a windshield antenna.

There are multiple antennas on a JT. You have 2 on top of the speaker bar.

The embedded windshield antenna is for AM/FM radio if memory serves me right and should have nothing to do with the issues you currently mention. But feel feel to prove me wrong.

It's a lovely 2024 feature on Gladiator.
I also wonder if there is any spec limit on the EMF energy directed in the cab at the occupants? (Note: tiny decorative ground shield, appears minimal).

Have you checked under the dash for the tracker your dealer installed?

Jeep does not actively track these vehicles. The truck does, however, regularly check in and upload data to the servers. Paying for the Guardian Service allows very basic control of the vehicle, and the ability to request the location.

These new systems are likely more integrated. Prior to MY 2024, the OTA updates were only for the head unit.

Sorry, but either your mechanic lied to you, or doesn't know squat about your JT.

The integrated windshield antenna ONLY replaces the standard, metal antenna that USED to be on the passenger front fender.

The antenna that broadcasts and receives info for your JT to be updated is located elsewhere.

But you go ahead and listen to an automotive technician (none of them are mechanics) instead of the people that have been climbing all over these trucks for 5 years.

AM/FM radio and GPS operate on different parts/segments of the RF spectrum...........so yeah.

So let's hear what's next. I can easily attach a copy of the US RF spectrum frequency allocation chart and you'd see the "mechanics" statement is hot trash.

Well, I'll let you take another shot of that tequila while you review your frequency spectrum chart.

I'm working on a chip design that takes in microwave and converts it to RF, with frequency hopping.

Within 3 weeks of purchasing my vehicle, I received 7 snail mail notifications indicating that my jeep was not responding.
Hmmm, perhaps because I had disconnected the embedded windshield antenna?

Oh, first thing I checked and confirmed, no tracker under dash.
This site does have lots of good information like that.
