I’m trying to donate my engine/transmission to my sons school but if they don’t take it you’re more than welcome to have it. It’s at 85k and on its way out but just an idea to get out of your troubles.

I second the Jasper , 3 year 100,000 mile warranty on transmissions and Motors.
I left it at the dealer today, I'm waiting for a second opinion, when they tell me the diagnosis I'll see what I do. Thanks for the information.

Sorry for not writing everything technically but I don't know, I just know that it made a horrible noise, it has no power, the stop/start doesn't work (they changed my auxiliary battery 3 times in a year)...and now I'm waiting for a second opinion

I would not buy a rebuilt engine from Jasper. I've seen way too many of them come misassembled, gaskets missing, piston rings missing or installed upside down, used bearings, nothing torqued to spec. On several occasions I've seen these engines not last 5 minutes, or even a minute, before grenading.

The only engine I'd put in a vehicle of mine is one that I've gone through personally. I may let someone else do the install these days due to health and other things, but the engine won't go in unless I'm the one who has checked it over or done the work.
I've seen too many "rebuilt" and "reman" engines go south. Yes, many successes as well. I've seen things work out perfectly, but it's not 100%
I recall years ago while I was on vacation, the other mechanics had put in a reman engine and then found a weird vibration. At certain RPM the thing had horrible harmonics and vibrations. They literally spent days on it. The company swore it was the right engine, and there was nothing wrong on their end.
Come to find out they had sent a 400 instead of a 350, and things were a mix of parts.
They don't get picky and build things one at a time in many cases. They pull parts from bind and build engines.
If it's a used engine - you could get very lucky or could get the one that the guy took to the drag strip on weekends and thoroughly thrashed down the quarter mile.
You could get one that had beyond excellent care, or one like I got a few years back - I suspect the oil was only changed when it got low enough to trigger the oil light. Teeth were ground rough on the cam shaft from extreme wear.
Had anyone else gotten that engine but me, I'm guessing they would have installed it, changed oil - and gone a few hundred miles before it blew.

Call me cynical if you want, I guess I'm sort of like Garfield the cat in ways, also,
but my 'trust of things to be right' gauge is nearing empty.

Well I'm going to go out on a limb here and say "This is going to be the last Jeep (Gladiator) he'll ever own.
Don't beat me up someone had to say it. Long live the "0"

I have to be honest - unless certain financial things change, or there's some compelling reason to upgrade in the future, my 2022 JT may be the last Gladiator I ever buy.
Now if they make certain changes and finances in the world improve (and certain things stop dropping month after month) - that may change.
But looking at the world as it sits, yeah, this one may be the last. And if that's the case - it will be because of how good it is - hard to top, etc.
