First off, I apologize for my first post being a lift question. I will try to be as specific as possible with my questions.

I own a 2020 JT Overland w/ the 3.6. it's mostly a daily driver, but I do some light trails and would like to do a little more. I am looking for a suspension lift of 2"-3" and I would like to keep the budget under $2000.

I am looking at the Mopar 2" lift for around $1700 with either the Bilstein or Fox shocks. I have looked at JKS as well as Clayton, ARB and others. It seems like most all of the kits are missing something. Is there any better bang for the buck than the Mopar kit?

Check this one out, this is what I have. I think it’s a much better kit than the Mopar kit for the money, and more complete. It has an adjustable front track bar, rear track bar relocation bracket, rear lower control arms.. all which don’t come with the Mopar. Plus better shocks IMO, and no need to add a leveling kit since it’s 4” front 3” back. The only thing I added was a Falcon steering stabilizer. Rides great on my 35x11.5r17s but plenty of room left for 37s if you wanted to go that route

Depends who you ask
I’d check out Rancho. They don’t get a lot of love on this forum but bang for the buck Rancho is pretty hard to beat.

I think the Clayton 2.5” Ride Right is your best bang for the buck. You get adjustable track bars and adjustable front uppers. The Mopar kit does nothing for the track bars and the arms are fixed length.

I went with jks 3" ($1200) and added lower front control arms(300).... had it a year, ride seems about the same, run it on the beach, but haven't tried anything serious....

My advice - keep researching, and wait until you are SURE. The hardest part about looking for a USED jeep is looking past all the crap lift components that people slap on, then let wear out, and then try to justify as "jeeps just drive like jeeps - they are supposed to drive bad".

I originally looked towards the Mopar lift, and after talking with the dealer, and studying more, I walked away from both - preferring to render my warranty invalid than deal with those jokers.

When I asked my son (mechanic) how much I should allot for a jeep lift he laughed and said "somewhere between $1,000 and $20,000 - you get what you pay for". The advice stuck, and the old adage "buy once, cry once" became more and more obvious the more I studied and researched.

Personally, I ended up with a Clayton 2.5" Overland premium lift, and I'm super happy with it. Good luck on your journey.

PS - "Best Lift" and "$2,000 budget" don't go together. LOL

I’ve wheeled the piss out of the Mopar lift all over CO and Moab. Any quality brand will do you well. Clayton, Metalcloak, JKS (a friend has this kit), etc. You can find a quality kit for $2k. The beauty is you can continue to add things like adjustable control arms, track bars, etc as you go, but the “base” kit of springs and shocks will get you 90% there for most things.

Also, front sway bar disconnects help way more than overall lift height. Keeping your tires on the ground, especially without lockers, improves your capabilities exponentially.

PS: the Mopar kit was like $1,200 installed when I bought mine. I think it retails for double that now, so an aftermarket kit would likely be a better option now if I had to do it all over again. In theory it was nice having it under warranty, but that’s not really a concern.

I have an AEV lift and its great. Supposed to be a 2" lift but it raised my JTR about two and a half inches. Great ride and handling. Quality products and no regrets. Bilstein shocks are great.
