We are looking for a very specific Gladiator. We found one locally, but it had a rebuilt title and the insurance cost woudl have been insane. We found two others, but they had had a light grey or white interior and my wife took one look at the interior and said "Nope"

Google searches are not that productive. You get different offerings from big listing sites like Cars.com, Kelly, Autotrader, and Carvana,; but then there are individual dealers that pop up with Gladiators that do not show up on any of the big sites. I imagine there are private sales and auctions that can be found too, but no luck yet.

I am pretty good at these searches, but I have very little time as I am dealing with personal crises for my father, a brother, and one of my kids (people tend to rely on me to solve big problems, because that is what I do for a living), as well as trying to get our house ready to sell, buy a smaller house, prepare for retirement in a few years, . . . This is a really difficult time for us and our spare winter car just died, so we are forced to try to find our gladiator sooner than expected.

I know there are some people who enjoy this kind of search and would love the help. If not you, then you already read too far. If you want to help, this is what we are looking for:

Necessary/Must haves:

Mojave Model
Snazzberry Color.
Dark Interior (not light grey/white)
3 piece Hard Top
Low(ish) miles (prefer not too low. 20 - 35K is ideal IMO)
Tow package.
Interior in Very good – excellent condition

Important/Things that we will add, so we hope to find a JT with these already included:

Bed Liner.
Cargo Management package.
Bed cover
LED lights.
Hard top liner.
Either color match top or black painted door tops.
Color Matched fenders.

Would be nice/Things we will add eventually if it does nto have them:

Winch.
Outlet in the bed.
Light bar.
35s
Upgraded stereo.
Flat tow equipment (preferably Blue Ox)
Cab height bed rack.
Ducks.

Location irrelevant but closer to metro Detroit is better. More than 700 – 800miles needs to have a really good reason to go that far out. We can do a fly out and drive back, but time is really hard to come by right now.

Minor dents and scratches OK.

No rust. No Rebuilt/Branded title. No warning lights on. No battered undercarriage.

Thanks.

You are looking for a used Snazzberry Mojave? Good luck finding one within your mileage radius. All the necessary options you are looking for would be better off adding them yourself after you buy. That should narrow down your search. But...it's still a needle in a haystack.

Sounds like you have bigger issues to address than finding a color/model specific Gladiator.

You sure have painted your self in a box. Easiest thing to do is buy the cheapest beater on Craigslist to get you through the winter, and be less picky when it sounds like you have bigger things to worry about then the perfect car.

I'd recommend using Autotempest.com. It aggregates a bunch of different sites and its filters are pretty decent.

That being said, you're going to want to weigh out what you really want vs need and limit your search keywords to as few options that couldn't be added after purchase. Start with trim, transmission, exterior color and go from there.

within 500 miles of you there is 1 snazzberry mojave hardtop. It's 44 miles away in New Haven Michigan... and it has a salvage title

Further out, there are 2 more with a softtop. One in NC, the other in NJ.

I did not dig into the other options for either of the 3, for what i assume are obvious reasons.

Limited edition colors are a bitch to find specifics of in the secondary market. Your best bet is to open up the color choice or the trim restrictions IMO.

Thank you.

We were just about to buy the one in New Haven with a rebuilt title. It was stolen and recovered with no damage. Then I discovered that insurance companies charge $2000 a year more for comp and collision on rebuilt title and they devalue the vehicle in the event of a loss ($25K in this case). I considered self insuring it, but the price woudl have to be down another $10K to make it make sense financially. They will eventually sell it. It is in great shape. Basically new. However someone is going to get burned on that insurance thing.

There is one in Texas and one in (some other place far away). Both have the light colored interior that my wife hates.

We are always very specific in what we want and almost always find it. However my search for a New Gladiator in 2022 came up cold, but then very few dealerships had even two gladiators. Many of the dealerships had only six or eight cars total and a couple only had two new cars. They just were not available. I just bought a Used RAM 1500 to tide us over that time. This time, as it is the spare car that we have to replace, we can take more time to find the right one. .

Good night OP! Do we get a commission if we find one for you?
Yes. 5 Small yellow vinyl ducks. Isn;t that what Jeepers most desire?

(My wife runs a regional library and they give them out at events, so I can go to events and get them, or claim the leftovers as compensation for helping to clean up).

BZZZZZZZZZZZT!
Well the OP can buy a hard top from a dealer or the second hand market.

Another option if they find one that doesn’t have the right color interior is to get Katzken covers that are just as good as OEM if not better..
