Hey all,

For those of you running Patagonias, from my understanding is that due to the design, the tire would technically “crown”.

The center is more AT oriented when aired up to cruising PSI, while when aired down, the sides which are more MT oriented creates a larger contact patch.

I’ve got a set of 38x13.5 sitting in the garage and wondering if the crowning is “normal” when it isn’t mounted on a tire?

Would appreciate all inputs on those running any size Patagonia MT-02.

My wife’s on 37x12.50 Patagonia mt02s on her 24 JLU. They definitely have some crowning both on and off the wheels. She had 35s on her 18 JLU and it was the same thing.

After 10-15k miles the crown started wearing off and the tires were more flat like normal tires would be

Both my XJ and the JT I sold had the same, if I understand what you’re asking.

Seems like sitting without any air makes the crown more visible to the naked eye.

Yep most likely! Did you sell without wheels?
No time, I jumped on a truck that is very rare in my parts, tradesmen power wagon, and I got what was fair trade in on my jt. I’m happy.

They’re at 34psi on stock wheels. If you read up on Patagonias, they’re designed to roll on the center tread.
