Engine knock-brought it to the dealer today

So, I may be paranoid from reading to many threads of failed rocker bearings and cam damage, but it seems that I have a knock that has gotten worse. It is quite noticeable between 2500-3100 RPMS under normal acceleration.
I have not been to the dealer I brought it to before, so fingers crossed they do good work and are honest. They estimated 2 days; we will see.

You have had that engine noise for a couple of months now. Normally, that should have been looked at a bit sooner. Did you take it in at 45k miles? I see you have been looking for a reputable dealer in your area.

Thanks for the reply. I had an appointment scheduled previously and then was warned to not go to that dealer.

I’ve been away and the truck hasn’t been driven much, so just getting it in now.

I have the same issue around 3000 rpm. Very noticeable knock. Took it in last week Tuesday and they heard it and my extended insurance company is making them tear into it to take pictures and confirm. As of Saturday they hadn't torn into it yet.

Yup, starting off the same way for me. I had an AM appointment yesterday and as of this morning they haven’t touched the truck.

So, I picked up my truck last night after the technicians said what I am hearing is normal. That may be so, but it is my first 3.6, so I can't argue that. What I do know is that the sound has increased over the last four months. The tech made the recording linked below, which sounds more like a 4-cylinder diesel than anything else to me.

Just heard that warranty company approved camshaft and lifter replacement on right bank. Thinking that with 77k I should just do spark plugs too while its' torn apart.

I didn't hear anything abnormal and remember on a recording the mic is highly sensitive and can pick up the sounds and make them seem amplified. There is a small tick from the injectors there is also 4 Cams in these motors that's alot of moving rotating parts.

Update: Right bank camshaft, tappets, arm valves and gaskets covered under warranty. $2684 total of which $1184 was in parts. Added new plugs to the order which was $381.40.

Sounds a whole lot better. Hoping to get at least 1 mpg in fuel improvement....please.

So your using a car warranty other than Chrysler ? Is the dealer doing the repair ? Around here NO ONE takes the aftermarket warranties I even know of several shops owned by former Chrysler mechanics that won't take Chrysler warranty coverage. They say they all are a total joke and won't pay what it really cost for the repairs + labor. Cash is King here.

Yes, 3rd party warranty that I purchased from Jeep dealer where I bought the Gladiator (3 hrs away but they had what I wanted). It was serviced at my local Jeep dealer. Guess I got lucky.

Quick update here: I took the truck to another dealer because I knew something was wrong, and they called me 3 hours after dropping it to notify me there was a rocker/lifter failure and that parts were already ordered.
