Saw another one in the wild down here in Carson City.

It's on a Ford, I think a Ranger. He seems to be local so I might get to talk to him.

Trip up wentworth springs into the rubicon. Wheeled up to the last part of the post pile obstacle and turned around. Didn’t realize there is actually a bypass on the left. Gladiator on 35’s pretty long for the main line. Had never been in through the springs before.

Camped a little way back down the trail.

Well finally got this baby installed. I maybe do a build thread on it. It dropped the rear about 1/2" total on both sides. I need to change out some hardware for stainless, mount the bike racks and tie in the support that backs up the weak ass 1/8" factory bolt on points.
It's tied into the frame via the Rubicon factory sliders. I also have provisions for a dual Jerry can setup and a propane tank mount.

Jay and Maggie can basically build anything you can dream of. I opted for the full barn doors. That way you don't have to climb over the tailgate. Just need a little step ladder to get in and out. Works perfectly for the wife and I.

Awesome, I do like the idea of the full barn doors and yours looks great. I like the bread and butter build but think I may do the all you can eat with:

Extra bedding height
assist struts
Barn doors w/ sliding rear windows
driver solid flip up door with either one of their all glass windows or an arctic Tern unit
passenger side flip down solid door with shelf
front non sliding window
Vinyl windows
MAxxair 7500K
roof insulation and liner
solar and shore power port
positive pressure vent

I will probably talk to them about additional vent for a portable AC unit, I am in NW FL and the summers get awful muggy and that's a must for the wifey..lol. Also thinking about the thermal pack but don't know if that will help with keeping it cooler in the summer or if I should just insulate the walls

I didn't feel the need after spending days in Death Valley for a PPV. Intrusion of dust was minimal except what we brought in. Think about if you are doing an awning. Which side vs flip open doo/ hatch

They have a new wide body camper top now too, adds 5 inches of width for around an extra 950 or so.

Good point, I have a new OVS 270 deg awning that will be mounted on the drivers side so I should move the flip up hatch to the passenger side

That is how mine is setup. Plus asymmetrical barn doors. Because I figured the way I was building mine out. It was easier as I didn't need both doors to open all the time. Just the drivers side. Drivers side has a sliding window with a screen. Positioned so it would interfere with the door open

Well just got back yesterday from a 2,000+ mile road trip fully loaded. Our goal was Glacier National Park. One camp spot along the way in Oregon. Drove all the way to Avalanche campground from there. For anyone that wants to go there. Reservations into the park and to Going to the sun road are not really needed. Depending on arrival time. We rolled in after 6. No one at the gate drove right through. It's a hell of a drive.
Side trip:
I'm sure plenty of y'all have seen the abandoned border crossing on YouTube videos. We were already in Polebridge so I decided what's another 25 miles. Almost if not all of it along the road is private property. The drive itself to the border crossing is pretty easy and smooth. Don't let these so called (over lander idiots) tell you different.

Wife came up with a great idea on food. She bought a bunch of Hello Fresh heat and eat meals. I just fired up the Wok on the propane stove dumped them in added a few splashes of water covered and done. Scooped back into containers it came in ate directly from there. Only 4 things to clean up. Wok, two spoons and cooking utensil.
Coffee and tea plus an egg, bacon, and cheese bagel for the morning.
Heat her tea water. Put in thermos add her tea and presto. Coffee in the same percolator, I use 2 unbleached tea bags grind coffee. Percolate for around 20 minutes and put in other thermos. No coffee grounds that way. Only one real wildlife encounter and he'd cross the road and was already most of the way across the meadow I wasn't able to get a good picture of the bear.
Now for photos:

Did you notice a dust difference on your bikes with the higher mount? I would expect less, but curious. My bikes get super scuzzy on trips.

Awesome looking trip, I like the Polebridge area. NW Montana forests give me the impression a dinosaur is going to pop-out at any moment. I think the mosquitos ate them all though.
