Adventure ready and the Jeep comes with us. The JK is gone and JT is our new tow rig….I need a new picture of the setup with the JT.

more expensive than a bed tent, but very comfortable…
This is so close to my dream setup, you must of snatched it out of my head.

The adventure motorhome definitely has its limitation, even with e-lockers, winch, etc….which is when we switch to the Jeep. When things get really spicy, the motorcycle gets the nod. Probably the best adventure setup we have ever had…and just in time since I am newly retired…

When I see all these fabric tents on or near the ground, I think back to the very first time I slept in our IKamper RTT. She got up early in the morning and started poking me and wispering: "Bear, Bear, Bear..." Sure enough, a good-sized black bear was sitting near the jeep watching her!

That is my wife’s number one fear…bears. we have camped for over 5 decades, and having bears in camp at night over the years only serves to exacerbate her concern about being eaten by a bear.

The adventure motorhome is her preference, but on a Back Country Discovery Route, the only option is tent camping…now with Napier tent in the bed of the JT. Of course, the Starlink, Blink cameras setup around camp and remote control outside lighting that is setup every night helps avoid being bear dinner…yes, it’s silly to have all this stuff on a camping trip, but this makes my wife happy and she comes along on the adventures secure in the fact that she will not end up in bear feces….

My wife's great fear of bears, any bears, worked to my great advantage last year! We planned (and did) tour of Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and other states. She asked me what I was doing about the bear threat possibility. I explained we would be taking one of my 12-gauge shotguns loaded with slugs.
She asked if that was adequate...
I said I thought so
She pressed, "If you could have anything, what would you carry?"
I countered, "Well, I'd carry a Smith and Wesson .44 magnum model 629 and a Marlin 45/70 lever gun."
Shortly before we left, in the camper, she had wrapped up a brand new Marlin, stainless lever action in 45/70. Inside the house, when I came back in was a brand new Smith and Wesson model 629 stainless .44 magnum pistol.
Fear can be a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hesitated to post anything about weapons, but agree, I have much the same deterrent tools.

Sorry for starting something and taking this a bit off topic, but a pic of mine. At Jasper about a week before the fire came through.

+You're good
Guns are great
Heck, without them we would still be subjects of the King ;-)
Living in Kentucky, I tend not to be sensitive to the gun argument that rages in places. Here, they are a natural part of everyday life. We all carry, even women. We hunt and shoot for sport as naturally as one breathes.
