How this thread still remains is a mystery. Op is in CA!!!

Like a North Korean asking where the hole in the fence is.

Or asking online how to make a machine gun!

CA Commisars take this stuff as serious as a zeolot does his religion. Don't break the law. That's it.

End it. Please.

And the rest of us don't live in a commie state and don't have emissions laws to worry about so move on to what matters to you🤷🏻‍♂️

That's fine. Start a post without a CA OP. For his/her sake. Locals only to non-emissions controlled states. My home isn't in CA anymore but I sure as sh1# wouldn't ask online how to break the local or federal law.

Abide by the law of the land and if that doesn't suit you, Move.

It matters to me. I quit buying diesel trucks because of emission regs. I don't own any regulated diesels today because of that. I actually Love diesels, in the pre-emissions form.

I vote with my feet. But I don't think a "delete diesel emissions" post from a CA person is either wise or benefitial to the OP, the forum members, or to the Admin here.

Just to clarify, anyone who deletes their EcoDiesel is committing a federal crime. That should be clear for those who think they are somewhere exempt. Federal law covers all 50 states. Now, enforcement is a different issue.

I've got three modern diesels that use DPF/SCR/EGR/DEF. For the most part, they are fairly reliable systems for the first 100,000 miles. After that, parts begin to fail and will need replaced (EGR cooler, Sensors, DEF Pump, etc.). Keeping the vehicle emissions compliant isn't cheap for those who plan to keep their diesel vehicles well past the warranty period.

The question that isn't clear, and a question that is currently being challenged at the federal level, is at what point are the federal emissions standards still under enforcement as the vehicle ages? There's some language in federal law that suggests the vehicles are only under federal requirements until full useful life. If that is the case, then our Jeeps would no longer be required to be emissions compliant once beyond 150,000 miles (B10 life of 150,000 miles).

Thank you

I am not in the know about that.

I only know that among other issues, my 2014 Ford SD Diesel left me stranded twice due to bad emissions sensors. (EDIT, Less than 60K miles on the odo, both times). The truck just started going into low throttle and on the dash, it said, "Pull Over". Once I hit 3 mph it shut itself off and said: "Call the dealership". That happened TWO F'n times. I was done.

I loved the power greatly, it was a power and torque machine. Pulled my loaded trailers like a semi truck on steriods. But I was done with emissions diesels. A month later I pulled into a Ford dealer to buy DEF. And out front sat a brand new 2017 F250 Gas, 6.2 liter 4x4 Ext Cab 8' bed work truck. $39,900 US. Cheaper than any diesel I had ever bought. It was tall, solid axles, has a low maint - manual transfer case shifter and was perfect for me. I traded my paid off diesel as fast as I could.

Previously, My 2006 Ford SD diesel blew out a few years earlier and I bought the 2014 F250 SD diesel. The 2006 King Ranch I think it was, was almost 50K out the door in 2006.

As they say, Fool me once.... but fool be twice....

Once, or if, they dereg diesels... I will again be on board with a diesel.

The left religion of global warming is costing everyone. To the trillions of dollars. The Earth is their God. But it's all a lie. Global Warming is not caused by humans. It is the normal earth cycles of warming and cooling. Ask the dinosaurs.

I don't break the law. If the laws are from fools, I move or stop buying what the Gov regulates.

If they outlaw Christianity, and love for mankind. If they outlaw working hard and morality. I will then be an outlaw. But not for a 'delete diesel'.

For diesel regs... it's not worth it. Not worth the hassle or maybe your freedom.

My trans isn’t tuned. I am on the fence on the tune, does it keep the torque management? Will the trans live when more torque is applied at a lower Rpm? At least you can reverse it if you don’t like it.

That's very true and your jeep shifted pretty well to me when you let me drive it.

You have everything for a turbo to axle exhaust. The factory axle-back will bolt up. Also looks like you opted out of the resonator.

THIS is the exhaust gasket for the over axle joint I would have used if I were to perform such a conversion.

You don't know how good you have it.
Which brand exhaust is that?

Agreed. Or, sit in a federal jail cell for a Diesel delete. It's all good... 3 hot meals and a cot and you don't have to work. Especially on your diesel delete. Your truck will be evidence parked in a lot for possibly years.

Vote to change the laws.

Good point. But if it is street registered... ???

Even newer off hiway - only diesel vehicles, like tractors over 26 HP, have to have gov regulated emissions.

That is why my Kubota diesel tractor is 26HP.
