Anybody else get an invitation to the slate forums from the Gladiator forum?
Wouldn't buy an electric vehicle if I was paid.
And no I don't want to watch this thread. Why is it that if I make a comment the forum automatically thinks I want to add the thread to my watch list?!
Because you were interested enough to comment?

A lot of companies do, but by the time you add the 25% import tax on trucks, they aren't cheap anymore.
Who? And even if they added a 25% tax, show me the $25k truck? Hell you can barely find a base model car of any kind for that price anymore foreign or domestic.

I don't think I am really interested in a $20,000 new truck.
Seems I heard something before... along the lines of "you get what you pay for..."
Yeah, I paid 56,000 and I done plenty fixing on this one already and about to do even more.

I assume it wouldn’t tow much, but couldn’t you add an electric motor to a trailer to boost capacity? Basically the trailer provides its own power (Again not talking about 10,000 lbs or long range trips).

Specs said it has a 1000lb towing capacity.

So I noticed the headline says "under $20k after incentive"....does that mean the base truck is $27500.00?

I personally wouldn't want a trailer pushing the tow vehicle down the road? Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I'd rather add a 2nd motor to the front axle to add towing capacity and stability.

I believe that driving an electric car is like going to the grocery store to buy meat.
No matter how you look at it. It still takes oil, diesel, and basically dead dinosaurs to do the job and people refuse to understand that it's still dirty and will never be a clean vehicle.
I feel that people who buy meat at the store don't understand where it comes from. But when you tell them you hunt they are appalled at the fact. Come to terms with it people.

With a family I cant live without 4 doors, but I kinda dig the concept. I wouldnt count on EV incentives to stick around, and by the time you option it to the point most people would buy it I imagine your getting into ICE options without the under powered battery situation or range anxiety. I really like the theory but curious to see how it works in the real world. As a buyer, Im out.
