Hi there
We love our gladiator and when we ordered it we ordered it with automatic rock sliders thinking that they were automatic sidesteps but they were not so we are trying to replace with automatic sidesteps that light up when the door is opened. Does anybody have recommendations for our make and model?

I’m surprised I’m the first one to reply. The only good answer is Rock Slide Engineering. They take a beating on the trail and work great. I’ve had the gen3’s on mine since mid 2021. They refuse to have a problem. No matter how much abuse they take. Yes, they light up when they open.

And who knows, they might have a Memorial Day sale.

thank you again for letting us know about these. We just checked them out - pretty pricey-any decent lower cost options?

They are pricey. No arguments. But they are legit rock sliders, on top of being power steps. I don’t know much about the other options.

I Have the Rough Country electric steps on my '21 Overland Diesel. Great steps for around $1800 installed. Don't think you could rock crawl with them like the RSE steps. They are lighted and fold up to the body and don't hand down.

I replied on your other thread. I second Rock Slide Engineering. However I had the second skid plate installed when I had them put on my vehicles. This gives you a total of about 5/16” of steel down the side of your truck. A plus if you ever get T-Boned…
The lights are an additional charge but work nice.

I think it all comes down to what your plans are for your Gladiator. If you plan on going off-roading, rock crawling or anything like that than the only real option would be the RSE steps with the bash guard as the other steps are not rated as rock sliders and will break. If you don't plan on doing any of that than the other cheaper options would work for you.

The day after the dealership acquired my Diesel Gladiator, I took it home to give my wife a ride. Had to find a step for her to get in (Rubicon). When I went back to the dealer, I had them order the RSE step-rock sliders to install before I took delivery. They were actually made about 25 miles away, and were in stock - thus no real delay. I like them!

They’re killer. Expensive yes, but so good.

Thank you all for the advice. Looks like we have RSE in our future.
If you’re not doing heavy off-roading where you’re going to bash them on rocks, you won’t need the extra armor. But if you are, it’s pretty important.
