There are some dealers who are MSRP only. They can easily do it because if you walk, others will bite. And when all dealers in the area for that brand pretty much sell that way, you have little choice.I share your perspective.
A couple of the dealers I’ve spoken to are in affluent areas. They didn’t seem terribly interested in making a deal. At first it seemed like they were low pressure, but it also seemed that they figured if I didn’t but it, someone else would. Is that it or had they maybe just hit their numbers for the month? Or are these Jeeps just so hot that they don’t need to deal?
Their flexing is often in the trade value. The MSRP ones will sometimes give more in trade, but not always. Here they come close to matching the online "we'll buy your car!" places (which don't give near as much as our dealers do on trade)
Here, though, you are looking at sticker prices. The only help you can get is affiliate pricing and FCA incentives.
And if they get a vehicle from another dealer - you deal with their prices, not what the OTHER dealer had it listed at.
