Hang on. They can't get the sensor, so they need to replace the entire rear axle assy? What does the t-case sensor have to do with the rear axle? That makes no sense. Are they confusing that with the locking differential? Is the locker not working, and the 4WD is actually fine?
I get what WXman is saying, and he has a point. I just figured they wanted the whole set up so they can diagnose it in house. Again not familiar with how they operate tho.What if anything else should I ask for? The extended warranty is great but it sure doesn't hurt to ask. My MIL is out of state right now so she doesn't need her car but I see what your saying.
I would ask for at minimum a break down of whats being replaced and why, how does it work in conjunction with the bad sensor. Talking to a tech or service manager is best. A lot of sales people are not mechanical and might not understand what they were told or read. Not to mention it's a good opportunity to learn about how your truck operates if your not already familiar.
