Hi guys I’m new here, I just bought my 2023 overland with 50k miles last week from dealer. It’s a good condition first owner car and I love everything about it.

But when I start researching about first owner, I found out it’s a company called “FCA US LLC”. Based on google its Fiat Chrysler Automobile, simply said is the manufacturer of Jeep.

Its this something I should be aware of? What could this car possibly used to? A rental or test drive car? I hope someone can help with my panic!

It clearly states it was a rental vehicle in that report. but then I don't go fully by carfax as it could just be how it was entered and isn't fully correct.
I wonder if it could have been a lease..............

Could this potentially be a lease vehicle? Not sure if the how will Carfax mark the lease vehicle on the report.

The new car had 5 miles on it when it was registered reported as “first owner” to the state.
What is the problem of that? I have bought a lot of used vehicle, most have 5-50 miles when registered. And there is one with 1800+ miles when registered😂

I owned a truck was a rental first, did a full service on it and never had a problem.
Thanks you for your reply, TBH I start getting crazy about Gladiator is all because one rental. I fell ok about rental gladiator but definitely not rental Dodge… just trying to figure it out the maintenance history.

You bought a used truck from a dealer with 50k miles on it that is a lease return. What exactly is your concern?

Don't get hung up on that either - you will likely never know. There's no rule or law or anything saying things must be reported to anyone. Heck, a person can do their own maintenance, or even go to a shop that doesn't use carcrap - uh, carfox. It's not all that reliable unless it's always serviced at a shop that always puts things in carfox and writes things up properly.
You may find nothing, or very little - and it means just that - very little or nothing.

That's my instinct - not sure how TX or even carcrap reports that stuff. I'd say don't get hung up on it.
You just really never know - no matter what the used vehicle is, rental, lease, or simply a used trade-in. Could be great, could be not so much. You will get heartburn at this point - it's already bought.

Well, do you recall me telling of the IHP trooper who was doing a training session where I worked (I put together safety meetings sort of a lunch and learn thing)
He told of pulling up on a vehicle sitting on the shoulder with the hood up, driver in the vehicle sitting, waiting.
Trooper asked what the problem was -
It lost some power, and just stopped, I can't get it started again.
Trooper looks to see the fuel gauge indicates it has gas.
He goes up front and looks things over under the hood, pulls the dipstick wipes it off, reinserts it, and pulls it out again. Nothing. He tries again - nothing.
He goes back and checks the odo - 35,000 miles.
Asks the driver when was the last time he had the oil changed....
This is a lease, I don't have to do that with a lease car..
