Does this mean the dude with no teeth on Youtube, posting from a fleabag motel room was right, and the other dude trolling him from another fleabag motel room was wrong? What's the score around here?

A 5.7L for the pheasants please I'm not spending 100K. I've had several Dakota's with the 5.2L V8 and 4.7L V8 those engine options didn't have a $20K upcharge it was way less.

beyond the fact that i cant afford 100k dollars for a jeep, for 20k more i could have a corvette or an LC500/IS500, more fun V8. Since i dont have 'fuck you' money, i guess this is how my brain operates.

Sure, id love a V8, then i realize i can barely afford the gas in my v6, how am i going to keep that v8 fed with my foot in the floor.

It is kinda sad my 02 grand marquis with 212k miles gets better mpgs vs my jeep, but thats like comparing a microwave to an oven, similar, but not the same.

i guess im salty ill be able to afford a used one in 20 years.

Too big. Who needs all that room anyway?
Wife and I both work from home, so two home offices. Plus our room, kid's room, workout room, and an art studio. Having it all at home is easier than buying a commercial building and commuting, but we are dreaming of buying a warehouse.

My diesel spins the 37s on dry pavement with the stock 3.73 gears. A V8 seems like I wouldn't get any more useable performance, but shit gas mileage.
Exactly, I spin my 42s all the time and it would kick on traction control. I ended up getting the banks pedal monster and enabling the tow mode on it to cut power for the first 15 mph and it resolved the issue and I am still getting 17mpg-20mpg. My wife's old 392 would get 12mpg if we drove it conservatively but that rarely happened and we were usually down in the 8-10mpg range. Paying $100K for V8 gladiator and then still getting crappy gas mileage. To each their own. I highly doubt the 392 would be an up charge since the Wrangler 392 is it's own model that has an MSRP of $100K. I bet they would do the exact same thing with the Gladiator and do a Gladiator 392 priced at the same thing.

I'm willing to bet a 392 Gladiator is going to be $125k+ when it finally comes out. It'll be a top-trim option only and a hefty premium on top of that.

I'd love to eat crow on this one, but the way Jeep has priced things like this in the past, they're going to overshoot their potential market.

I don't get the "need", other than of course profits, to be throwing out 75k, 100k, 125k for a V8 Jeep. I can buy a Max Tow for like 45k with a 3.6. So what is the difference in cost from a 3.6 to a 5.7? Can the same transfer case be used? Would the current Dana 44's work? I'm sure the ZF transmission is up for the task. So how much are we really talking about additional? The difference in actual cost of the engine is what, 2k, 3k, 4k? So how much more should it be for a a Max Tow 5.7? I would say not more than 5k, maybe less. So I don't see why a well-equipped, 5.7 Gladiator can't be sold with a reasonable profit for 50k or less.

Both were correct - it may be coming (yet to be seen) but not on the timeline the first toothless dude was stating.
And the first one had NO inside information - no way he knew what the CEO was going to say, and there are no indications at the factory of any changes coming soon. So he was wrong in that respect.

What about them? The president didn't relax the standards congress did at the request of EPA.
The next president can not reverse by E.O.
The law wasn't actually changed. The Senate can't make such changes in a reconciliation bill like they used to get the so-called "BBB" through.
Midterms could see it all EASILY undone since no law was actually changed. The fine was simply reduced to 0, the law is still intact stating that there are fines.

Just like so many of the other "options" - can only get in the X models. Power seats, SelecTrac (full time 4H).
The V8 will require the 4HA transfer case and the heavier transmission. It's not just a matter of a bit more for the engine, other parts will be changed. Steering knuckles for the weight, perhaps?
The 3.6 is really light.
Count on it being a premium model when it eventually happens (based on 2 sentences)

Not that anyone cares at all - but also figure about 14 mpg. It's going to be a fairly heavy vehicle with more drag than a JL, so mpg will totally suck. You'll need to be able to afford the premium for all of the changes required to get the engine in, and for the extra fuel.
Add mods, you'll maybe see 12 mpg.

When they offer a 5.7 on all trims as an option they will get my attention.
Not interested in a 6 figure truck.
May as well get a Ranger Rapter.
For a 6 figure amount, I could just skip the work myself and pay someone to go on all the trails with with their own Jeep and a video cam and invite friends over to watch the videos with a couple cases of beer. We could all go "oooohhhh and ahhhhhh" over the tough trails.
