not gonna run out and buy a new one ... I will however be taking pics and notes to swap my own ( we don't need no stinking inspections up here )I still don’t see where it’s actually confirmed. Like “2027 Gladiator V8 available xx/xx/xx” confirmed.......
But after years of V8 wet dreams, are they man enough to drop some coin and pull the trigger or will they chicken out as usual? I think we all know the answer to that.
I gave up on that, there is a greater chance of convincing a hooker to wear a wedding ring, then getting Jeep to honor their own warrantyLook at my signature.. I have installed all of them myself in my garage. I just don't know if I have the desire to do it all over again on a 392. It was all fun the first time but again seems just a little like too much just to void a warranty. Here in So Cal I have never seen a V8 Gladiator.
Lol, leaf springsreally you would actually pay hard earned cash for old tech
okay here I go...
Its a JEEP it goes off road .
Leafs hold the axles from dropping the capabilities of the Jeep would go out of the window. There would be no more rolling up over huge uneven obstacles without lots of rollovers. Leaf springs are for blacktop on road heavy hauler.
This is a Jeep an OFF-ROAD capable vehicle .I cant believe what I am reading .
Look at all the trophy trucks and ultra 4 cars running leaf springs...oh wait there aren't any. Deavers are great, for leaf springs. I'm sure your trucks are faster than pro4 trucks though? Deavers are as good as it gets with leaf springs, comparing them to a stock gladiator is just silly. The other drawback of leaves, especially flexible ones, is axle wrap. I ran deavers in the back of my xj. Bound up in the rocks with enough traction in the rear they would wrap enough to grenade the rear drive shaft. Looked into building an anti wrap bar after the 2nd time, but figured if I was going to run any links there was no need for leaf springs. Triangulated 4 link and air shocks. Way more flex and 0 axle wrap. Never broke another rear driveshaft. As far as for hauling you can run into the same issue. Trying to pull a 10k pounds trailer from a stop up a loose hill can quickly turn to axle wrap, wheel hop, and broken parts. 4 links practically eliminate that altogether (the bushings flex enough to allow a very tiny amount but nothing like leaf springs). My ram 1500 with air suspension didn't care if I overloaded the bed with a 2700lb pallet of bird seed or drug an 8500lb trailer with the JLUR in it through the trail looking for a camping spot.
Yep!It’s been atleast 8 years since we’d bought a ‘new’ truck. We were surprised at how much the 2024 Mojave cost ($70K) MSRP. But then again… Everything else is almost just as expensive when you want ‘fully loaded’.
… as my mom used to say…“You can’t take it with you”
If I had 100K ....I’d rather spend it on a JT with a V8 than a Tacoma with a V8.

Not even the modern hemi has hemispherical shaped combustion chambers. Now, most modern engines have hemispherical heads anyway.
Not that I am saying they won't......but it sure seems like they would have chosen to refer to that engine as a Hemi at some point before now if they were gonna go that route, right? I think trying that maneuver, at this point in time, on this vehicle, would just get them laughed out of the market.Back to the Main topic: I think Stellas new 3.0 straight 6 turbo is the one they have in mind. Maybe not. They can call it a "Hemi" because they own the rights.
Well, you may be right. Not that I am saying they won't......but it sure seems like they would have chosen to refer to that engine as a Hemi at some point before now if they were gonna go that route, right? I think trying that maneuver, at this point in time, on this vehicle, would just get them laughed out of the market.
You know more than most can believe that you do. Hard to believe on the internet. Not even the modern hemi has hemispherical shaped combustion chambers.
They are a "pent roof" or more of a tent design.
Real hemis are inefficient and you can't go 4 valve/cylinder with a true hemi.
They also have added quench areas or pads which a hemi won't have.
Hemi is just a name these days. Inefficient compared to other modern designs and poor with emissions.
Hemis with domed piston heads also spread the area out where the flame front must progress, making is a slow burn chamber.
The large intake valves of the hemi were fine for high RPM power but slowed the intake charge coming in - also bad.
It's just a name these days - has little meaning with modern engines.
It ain't rage bait it is just a rational response to irrational thinking.Cmon... the reason these threads go 13 pages deep because of outlandish statements like that!
How we went from celebrating the seeming prospect of a V8 JT to talking leaf springs in them is mind blowing and expected at the same time. People love saying shit to get others going. Rage bait.
