If you have to plug it in to leave the house, your choice to leave is not yours. A power wall with solar might save you.

I have. I live in the mountains. The Rivians get just as deep into the backcountry as the Jeeps. I take it you haven't ran many EVs on the beach or through the mountains?
As do I. I drive a modest EV for my daily. Fast, lots of range, zero issues whatsoever. Way more power going up steep grades than an ICE.

The Rivians and other electrics use approximately 6 times the energy when on mountain trails or dunes. Maybe just fine on a mountain road but I’m interested in mountain trails.
Way less. Just like an ice. Slow and steady uses very little power. I’m assuming you’ve never owned a plugin? We’re on our 6th.

I hope that’s an improved Compass or something else…...non Wrangler-esque…. Jeep.
That’s ugly!!
Please no…… not the Wrangler!
I just had a Compass as a service loaner, boy was I happy to give it back! Twin exhaust on a 4 cylinder that doesn't even get the economy of my Glad diesel.....

Most EVs these days have the same range as your gladiator. Including these Recons. If you're getting far enough out to need to refuel your gladiator on the trail with Jerry cans, then the Recon isn't the vehicle for you.
The problem with these EV's is for the size they are HEAVY....

The really heavy ones are the unreasonable ones like the hummer. Hummer will always be unreasonable. They’re really not much heavier than an ice. Trade engine, transmission, and fuel tank for batteries and it’s likely the same or lighter. Remember the average 15 gallon tank weighs 90 pounds in fuel before the tank weight. Electric motors are far lighter than an engine. Transmissions are typically single speed, so way lighter. And most EVs don’t require ANY maintenance for 100,000 miles, except wiper blades and tires. The number of moving parts in an engine is insane. There is a TINY fraction in electric motors.

Wow…I would not expect that…. A JT (Diesel) getting better gas mileage than a little 4cyl econo box?

But then again….. My husband‘s last car was a BMW M340 - that thing got 39mpg on a trip to cape cod (Turbo charged inline 6 in Eco mode). His current M4 gets about the same (or better) than the JT (gasser) depending on what ‘mode’ he’s in and how heavy his foot is.

Doesn’t a Hummer (2025) weigh around 8500 lbs?
