Ive got several spots on the hood lower edges where the paint is bubbling. Along the front and both sides. Its a '22 Willys w the red paint. You think warranty will cover it? Figures, will prob have torepaint tje hood and hope they get the decals back in the right spots. Not happy

sooo it should be covered under the 5 year anti-corrosion warranty. My local dealer didn’t have their own paint shop so it was contracted out to Caliber collision and they did a fantastic job on my wife’s ride.

Do you know if the contract bodyshop put a new hood on or did they repair the original?

They repaired the original. I went by and checked as they were working on it and they sanded it down to aluminum, , used some different type of primer, then paint and clear. It’s been clear for three years since

I had my ‘20 repaired under warranty at a dealership in Central Florida. Replaced the hood and doors that had corrosion on them. So far so good. They also gave me a loner while they had my JT in there working on it.

Corrosion warranty is 5 years from your “in service” date so should be covered.

Do your homework on dealers and body shops. Some horror stories out there about mismatched paint etc. Ask the shop how long they will warranty the work, because after Jeep has covered it once, future issues would be on whoever painted it.

Check your car everywhere - you mentioned hood, check door hinges, door edges (inside and out), tailgate too, and windshield frame.

Mine is at the shop right now getting all 4 doors, hood and tailgate replaced. Stopped in yesterday and got to see it in work. The shop is using the new hinges that have a (per the TSB that was put out) a Zinc shim built into the hinge. They then fully paint the door, then attach the hinges and install. I think one of the main issues was that jeep bolts the hinges to the doors and hood during assembly then paints over everything. So easy for moisture to get in-between the door/hood and start causing the galvanic corrosion to occur. They stated the new process with fully replacing and proper prep, they haven't had one come back yet.

Then we hear of others not having their parts replaced, but only repaired. I sure hope I get my parts replaced.

I feel you, I'm seeing the same thing on my hood as well. In fact, when I recently vinyl wrapped a small area of my JT, upon removing it I noticed the paint discolored where the wrap covered. I have never seen this before on any vehicles that I have added vinyl wrap to. I'm starting to wonder why Jeep went so cheap on paint quality? My previous JKU had none of this and it sat outside of my garage in scorching heat and down pours and the paint stayed awesome.
