I just picked mine up Tuesday it was in the body shop for a week I had to wait two weeks until I could drop it off they had to get the hood, doors and Tailgate from jeep The body shop I went to does all the paperwork and gets it approved by jeep. The total repair cost they charged jeep $9,800.
I’m sure they write dollars upwards for a tax right off !!

Far as I know Parts are in primer and still need to be painted. Sadly larger parts like hoods, fenders ,doors etc… usually have some minor damage that needs to be fixed before painting.

Maybe a stupid question since this is warranty repair... but do these repairs cause a hit on a Carfax report since its body panels?

I made a paint claim in Aug 2024 which was approved right away.
The work was done last week.
4 new doors and a new hood. They also painted the windshield frame.

Sales manager asked if he could offer me a 'great deal' to trade for a new one. I said no thanks, I feel like I just got a new one and I only have 56k miles on it. It's paid for.

Now I just need to replace my @pixeldecals hood topo blackout....already on order.

Check your inbox.
I need to get mine into the local dealer. So far, my damage is limited to the hood. If they replace everything aluminum, that'd be great. I have some dents in my tailgate from idiot shoppers (I have to assume).

If only Jeep made defective plastic fenders as well... I'd have a brand new looking rig!

they didn't repaint mine they replaced it They also replaced the doors and tailgate, all the aluminum parts. I dropped it off last Tuesday and will pick them up this coming Tuesday They gave me a 2025 Gladiator as a loaner My repair was done under the corrosion warranty
Did they opt to simply replace or did you have to push for it? I'm just starting the process for hinges, 1 door and two spots on the hood. Taking the truck to body shop on Monday for them to do the estimate.

Where does it appear on the windshield frame? I haven't seen any yet but now I'm worried

I also have corrosion that has developed.

I contacted my dealer regarding the corrosion on my hood and tailgate, and they literally sent me an email stating that they did not want to be bothered with those kinds of claims and so they refer everyone to a certain third party. That third party is over two hours away so I would like to have it done somewhere else closer.

For those of you who have had this done at a non-dealer body shop, what is the procedure? Does it need to be approved somehow? Do they have to be partners?

Any insight is appreciated.

I went to a Jeep dealer and asked if they would sub it out to a non-dealer body shop. They wouldn't.

I'm surprised this is what your dealer is recommending. Who is the third party they're recommending?

Thanks for your reply. This is what they said (seems copied from another email):
--------------
Good morning, I received info that you were needing some paint repairs done to your vehicle. we are referring everyone to Secret city CDJR collision center in oak ridge TN will take care of any corrosion claims that a dealer doesn’t want to mess with. Have your customer call (names and contacts were here in original email).

As they are better equipped to handle the paint issues due to us not having a body shop on site
---------------
I have found this site and contacted one of the shops on the list but have not heard back yet:

Ok, that makes sense. Since the dealer you contacted doesn’t have a body shop, they refer you to another Jeep dealer that does.

Agreed. I don't want to be too hard on them. I understand business is business. It all come down to math and ROI. Except my legitimate problem being something they don't want to "mess with" seems like the quiet part out loud. But is there a recourse that I could find a closer option? Or am I forced to decide if the two-hour option is worth it?
