We had a Grand Cherokee 4Xe as a loaner for 2 months. With a round trip commute to and from work of 60 miles, 50/50 highway and surface streets. In hybrid mode the battery would last 80% of the trip one way. So the last 20% and the entire trip back home was all gas. I did give it a chance and I did try to drive light footed and I even used the regenerative braking. I charged it at home every day. From roughly sub 5% to 100%, which would take 13+ hours from a 110 outlet. Our electric bill doubled (We dont have solar and dont plan to). We were also filling up about once a week. My Eco diesel JT has been more cost effective then what the 4xe was. I guess putting around town and driving a few miles a day the 4xe could make sense. For us, the 4xe was disappointing. Glad it was a loaner. The diesel has been better.Gee, really? We bought going in knowing what it was all about. My wife has gone 500 miles and 3 months on 9.9 gallons of gas.
It gets plugged in after each trip.
