V8s only died because of CAFE. really wouldn't surprise me if 4xes die the same time V8s come back. Are these the same "sources" that are guaranteeing a V8?
How to do figure CAFE is "gone"? This administration is choosing not to enforce the law and reduced the penalties to $0, but it's still the law as far as I know. An amendment tacked onto a "must pass" spending bill in the future will easily reinstate those penalties and it would be much easier to pass than a full bill - all the standards are still there.CAFE is gone. That 4xe really only exists to satisfy CAFE. Rumors are rumors, but this one is at least based on some rationale.

Correct. Only the fines have been reduced to $0.CAFE isn't gone lol.
You must be one of these "sources"
Nah, they just won't buy Jeeps. Good thing all 12 of you that will actually buy a V8 gladiator will be enough to keep it in production. If theres enough demand, maybe AMW or similar company will put together a hybrid swap like they do for V8's, that way you guys can get better fuel economy like you would in a suburu or something.
This. The amount of crap info from those guys is honestly kind of impressive. They are a very "seat of the pants" operation that accidentally became a business.Correct. Only the fines have been reduced to $0.
The law is still in place. It can very easily jump back into normal fines in a couple of years. And since the last change was made retroactive - who says the next change won't be made retroactive?
Not sure TFL is a great resource. Not that they are wrong, but I had a hell of a laugh when he was struggling like crazy to even explain how the 4xe worked a few years ago. It was more comedy than learning.
There's an old saying that goes: If the penalty is a fine, that just means it's legal for rich people.Correct. Only the fines have been reduced to $0.
The law stayed because of how - the process - that was used. There's an old saying that goes: If the penalty is a fine, that just means it's legal for rich people.
Well... in this case the penalty is nothing.
Keeping the law while eliminating the penalty is clearly in "tits on a bull" territory.
