anything along the bottom to prevent damage to the bed? I'm not lined and frankly my bed is already scratched to shit, but currently i'm all surface scratches, and fear something like this could eventually get through the paint and expose bed metal.

It uses springs to secure itself in the trunk. During the test, there was no case of scratching surface.

Is it the same height as the wheel wells? If so, this could be used in conjunction when the tailgate is at a 45 degree to help support sheets of plywood, lumber, sheetrock and other similar things.

you have a liner in the bottom of the bed of the example truck. Most of us would not have that.
The sides curve in at the bottom - is there a stop or does the bottom corner simply hit that curve and dig in and stop it from going on down.
For example, the board I made, I curved the bottom to match the curve of the bed sides so it rests on the bottom of the truck bed, not in the sides.
Will this actually rest on the curve of the bed sides to stop it from going clear down?

I could see myself adding a board to the bottom to prevent digging into the curves at the bottom of the sides, sort of a stop, and, to keep things from sliding under.

This area curves in - does it rest on these curves or have other stops to keep it from going down farther?

Good catch. But yeah I did the same thing to board I made for this purpose. I notched the corners so they didnt gouge the paint.

Defiantly some talented ones out there! Mine is far from that. Very rough and slapped together. I liked this metal one because is folded in half. But I dont like that it will gouge the curved area. I guess I could cut mine in half and add a hinge with a latch of some sort.

Thats an idea I had. That would make it easier to carry for my purposes. As of now I just take it out and lean against side of the house until I need it again.

Bolt type latch. Piano hinge for neatness. You can get them in many sizes, cut to length.

I have a bedrug in mine. I also have an Ice co fridge slider mounted to a plywood piece so this is probably not going to work for me. .

I got this unit and sent it back. I wanted more space between the tailgate and the first barrier. But the unit seems to well built.
