Alright I’m in need of some inspiration for some clean DIY wiring. I see plates and the SPOD etc stuff but looking more at the DIY side. I’m super OCD about clean and tidy wiring and stuff that’s easy to service. Started making my own plate but I’m not set on it. Or if there’s any good threads that I’ve missed over the years for this.

I don’t know, covering the battery and also possibly making fuse box hard to open are two things. All the wires coming off the relay for most part have to be spliced or put on another terminal block. I’m an electrician and went with the Voswitch panel , very clean waterproof all terminations are not getting mud and salt on them and control panel is clean also,I have six relays you needed eight so there is that , but after I got done doing some of my wiring I realized I could combine the bed lights, water pump, into one circuit with switches at tailgate, so I could have gotten by with the four relay setup with switch panel in assist handle by driver, I have no lights or need for them …..Jack
My panel controls :
Fridge
Air Compressor
GMRS radio
Water pump, bed lights, charger in bed

Given your plate design, you may already have seen it......but what about adding some holes along the bent portion to route cabling like the @813 Fabrication & Design plate?

Here is a thread on the Wrangler forums I referenced when I did something similar.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...n-wiring-multiple-things-from-battery.110935/

As an aside...that Blue Sea Safety Hub 150 in the linked post is about the best compact solution I have found that covers things both high and low amperage. Big fan.

I have the fender plate design that Thunderspud mentioned above. I have made a few larger versions for customers and also have the driver side version. Let me know if there is anything I can help with.

I agree. It’s very inexpensive for a nicely setup system. I have the four and sometimes wish I’d gone 8. But I’m getting away with it with the four aux switches.

Now you’ve got me thinking about putting your plate under my Voswitch box, just for the routing.

Sorry, and no offense, but that would drive me NUTS. I do not want my battery covered in case I need emergency access - there's a number of reasons you may want fast access to the battery and even the fuse box.

I tried really hard to make all of my wiring mods so that a tech in a shop wouldn't have to dig through stuff to work on it, and everything stayed out of the way. I like "the factory look" .

I've got 3 sets of relays, massive wiring harnesses, fuses, winch solenoid, aux switch wiring, plow lighting control box, and all, so the wiring is mostly hidden, not really covering anything.

If I had an aux switch system other than factory, I'd do my darndest to make it hidden or a factory look, not blocking anything at all. There's a lot of places to put things well out of the way.

I like what @Thunderspud has in a way because if you need fast access to anything - it's there, and with just a couple of bolts, the whole thing can be peeled back, the wires are all well protected. It's one of the better setups I've seen thus far.

Have pics of your setup? Trust me your thoughts exactly are why I’m seeing what others have done. I don’t mind covering things if it can easily be removed or moved around quickly. The pic I posted is just a starting point to see if I was going to be happy with the setup. Nothing is connected so hence why it looks sloppy.

I’m gonna have to look at your site again and see what options you’ve got and see if anything can be changed around with them.

If you need something similar, but perhaps a different hole, or a bit smaller, they may be open to a slight modification of an existing product.

If they made something like what I made, I'd not have been against buying - I'd buy it bare and powder coat it to match my Jeep.

I originally made the bracket to mount my winch solenoid, then decided it would be an ideal place to put the plow's fuse, so added to it. It also allowed me to tap off the battery side of the solenoid for the plow power instead of running 2 cables to the positive post.

In my Camaro, my battery is buried in the bottom of the trunk.

You have to pull the floor liner and carpet out, unscrew the hand screw in the center, remove the molded foam tire placeholder that holds the factory air compressor and tire goop.

Then finally remove the battery hold down and the battery.

I've had to access it exactly once - when the battery went bad 😄

Mom's Equinox, it's buried in a plastic box under the PCM and fuse block. You have to unscrew the kid and flop it all to the side. Had to Google it to find it.

Long as the OP runs all the wires off of one side so it can be flipped out the way, I think it's totally acceptable.

Let me know if I can help!
I’m almost thinking something like the compressor mount you’ve got that sits next to the fuse box. Still seeing what all I need to package where. The plan is to have more than I’ll “need” already setup so I can just plug the new item in and go. My biggest issue is that the switches I’m using are small so everything has to be on a relay.

I designed these plates a few years ago but never got them to the website for some reason. The powder coated version is deeper and only works with the Genesis dual batteries since the fuse box drops some. I have these available if one may work for your setup. I need to make some for the website but Genesis now has a similar plate and I don’t want them to feel that I copied their design.
