My PRP seat covers are two years old this week and I thought I would post how they are holding up. My 2021 Gladiator Rubicon has just at 37,000 miles on it and the seat covers were put on at 6,731 miles. I have two dogs that are approximately 70-80 pounds and split their riding time inside and outside about fifty-fifty. They are hunting dogs (American English Coonhounds) and are very rough and tumble. They jump in covered with mud, dirt, dust, blood, wet, and sometimes even after being skunked. The seat covers have about 40 weekend hunting trips on them (I do the gnarly hunting areas in my XJ). I am a real estate appraiser and broker and usually drive a little every day. I have ridden in the Jeep many times while soaking wet after a rain, swim, or falling in the river.

When I was shopping for seat covers I could not find any posts on durability, so here I am. Overall, I happy with the PRP seat covers, they have protected my original seats well. I am not 100% sure if I would buy them again or not. I probably will though and just see if I can order the individual seats or not.

Fwiw. I have Bartact covers and 48k miles on them. They’re still like new, as are the seats underneath. They’ll likely last another 100k miles.

Update: over 67k now. And they’re still perfect.

I bought my truck used, 2021 Gladiator Willy's, that had the PRP seat covers already installed. The truck has a little over 32K miles. No idea how long the seat covers have been on but my driver seat also has some cracking and flaking on the left butt cheek side. Other than that, they are spotless. Just normal driving and some hunting.

Bummer, I had my eyes on these.

I already have the OE leather, but liked the option to customize them for an affordable price. I've ran Clazzio PVC covers in the past, even had a set for my S2000 that logged about 40k miles over 6 years and they looked brand new still. Had another set of Clazzios in my Tacoma with PVC outer and leather inners and the PVC looked newer than the leather after 2 years.

Thanks for posting this though, certainly helps.

I think neoprene just doesn’t hold up forever. I’m sure they protect the seats well though. The ones that last are durable fabric with foam from what I’ve seen. But they cost more.

I am about ready for some new seat covers. What is everyone using now? What is the latest and greatest?

I still swear by my Bartacts. No tears, holes, etc. Probably some fading vs. new but I can’t tell. Still looks like Kryptek and Hydro Blue to me.

I did give them a good scrub this spring with one of those Ryobi spinning brushes, some warm water and Dawn.

They don’t wipe off as easy as the PRP or similar, but they have held up well.

Agreed. Mine have been on since July 2021. Only removed once for an interior detail. Covers look new, as do the seats underneath.

Snapped these just now. Interior hasn’t been cleaned since spring and likely won’t until fall, so lots of wet paws (not typically muddy) and swimming suits, some salty air and rain/pollen. I don’t suspect anything here will be stains.

I’m not sure how well they would do with your dogs’ hair, occasionally there’s a couple labs in the back of mine but it’s mostly my doodle. Might be worth keeping an eye out for a used set 🤷🏻

I went the cheap route and can't believe the quality of these. They're the Giant Panda seat covers from Amazon. We'll see how they hold up. You really can't beat $209 for both rows plus center console cover, steering wheel cover, and some tube covers.

How long have you had them? They look pretty good in the shots.

That’s really bad. My dogs, lab mix and staffy, are in my Jeep nearly every day and the factory leather still looks like new. I bought my Jeep 5.5 yrs ago. I’d be pissed. Pic from the other day.
