The mustang weighs 4k pounds, the plaid weighs 4800 pounds. The ICE fans talk like there fat ass "muscle" cars are light. Far from it.
My curb weight is 3,780 on my GT, that's half a ton lighter, literally over a 1000 lbs lighter. Uh, yeah it's a pretty big difference.

I don't give 2 shits about gas mileage. 600+ ftlbs at 0 rpms makes even the diesels seem like high revving hondas. There is no better power for finite control and crawling than electric motors. Unfortunately nobody has built a solid axle EV with good articulation...yet.
Yeah, last time I was trail riding at Big Bend, oh that's right no chargers LOL

Obviously, but the GT doesn't do 0-60 in 1.9s on the street or come pick me up when I call it either...

There's no gas stations on the moon either, but I don't care as I'm not going there. The map I posted of Moab was because someone asked about Moab specifically as far as EVs and wheeling. Yes you can find remote locations without chargers. You can find remote locations without gas stations too.

Been following this all afternoon. Yall crack me up.

Nothing to add other than I do low key try to sneak reasonable numbers out my Gladiator. When I'm running back and forth to our other house a lot I try to work up toward 19MPG, which usually means running at or under 70 MPH.

To be fair, it's not often traffic lets me go faster than that anyway :CWL:

Cars yes I’d agree with, but a SUV being marketed as an off reOder should be coming with a full size spare.
I agree it should, but even some XJs came with a donut spare. The wife dailies her JLUR on 39s. I've told her straight up not to bother even trying to load the flat tire back in the Jeep. Roll it off the side of the road and hope it's still there when I come back for it. I never said it wouldn't have a spare, but I wouldn't count on it in today's world.

Ah, you quoted my old post as I was editing it. I Posted it and was like,, wait a minute, I saw a spare mounted right on the back.

All EV batteries are warrantied to 80k minimum by law so even in your ridiculous estimate of only 50k battery life they'd give you the new one? In reality most go well north of 200k before they need the battery replaced. If you actually use a vehicle off road, nothing is a lifetime vehicle. I'd trust a Tesla a 10 years and 200k miles over the JL or JT and certainly over anything that Ford makes. Of course the engine replacement to get to the recons level of power is $59k so it's not exactly apples to oranges.
How can you keep a straight face while calling somebody's estimate "ridiculous" and then following up with ridiculous lines like "nothing is a lifetime vehicle" and then comparing replacement costs to some random ICE engine an an attempt run to up the price? I don't have EV power today. Why would I expect it after rebuilding my motor?

The warranty is good. But keep in mind that it allows for a 30% degradation in battery performance before you can claim it. If you're an urban dweller, prob no biggie cruising along with 70% battery life. (I am not)

And most folks know how long a 1960's Jeep lasts (hint: longer than my lifetime). EV's have not been around long enough for anybody (hint: including you) to KNOW much about their lifespan or maintenance costs after warranty.

I hope your EV optimism is well founded. I really do. But try to remain humble until after you've had a couple decades in the driver's seat.

Then come back here and call me ridiculous. Who knows, by then I might agree with you from behind the wheel of my own EV.

Or not.

Who can really say?

Yes, your claim of an expensive battery replacement at 50k miles is 100% ridiculous. It literally can't happen as it's under warranty. There are countless EVs out there with less than 10% degradation after 200k miles. This v6 will likely eat a cam long before that. It's not about being humble, it's calling a spade a spade. Just because there's a few 60s Jeeps left on the road doesn't mean the average one lasted half that long. It's like the ultra rate 1 million mile car or truck out there. Only someone with their head in the sand would pretend that's average or expected. And a 60s Jeep could be completely rebuilt, new tub, new frame, new interior, and all easily with basic hand tools. And it was all cheap. A modern vehicle is covered in wiring, expensive sensors made of plastic, computers, and other expensive electronics that aren't rebuild able and will not last 60+ years period. The cost of a new transmission is damn near what rebuilding your 60s jeep in the 90s cost to keep it on the road. Sure you can make anything a lifetime vehicle but it would be more expensive and easy more labor intensive than replacing it.

This right here is the problem with electric owners. So what you mean to say is taxpayers subsidize your car purchase. You're welcome. Without the subsidizes, electrics make no sense. It's like the welfare system for cars. :CWL:
Oil companies are subsidized even more. Without them you would be paying $15 a gallon for gas so the taxpayer's are subsidizing your fuel purchases. Without the subsidies internal combustion makes no sense.

I was going off what another forum member said. I didn't do any calculations.
I wonder if all gladiators have the same size tank.
I think the 2025 did get a bigger tank. There's something in my "options" list bout 3 extra gallons or something.

All 3.6L tanks are 22 gallons. 2020-2026. What you're reading on your build sheet is that it was delivered to the dealer lot with 3 gallons of gas.

Even predicting the bunched panties doesn't prevent the bunched panties.

Okay, so that's my 380.
380/22= 17.27
I've actually been averaging about 18.5mpg (not counting when I was pulling a trailer), with a lot of interstate travel at ~72mph

If you have a jeep gladiator I highly recommend going to Big Bend. Some really nice jeep trails and camping spots. and being away from any major city, you can get some amazing night sky shots out there. It's a hidden Texas gem most don't know about.
