I can buy a NIB Cobra handheld, looks like you mount a small component under the dash, hook up to power, plug hand held unit into it, plug the antenna as well.
OK. I have a Mohave with a hard cover, where do you mount the antenna?

Is that new old stock? I know the Cobra 75, which is a similar setup but with all digital controls.

OP here. My Mohave has Gorilla Glass, antenna in the glass. My previous Glad had a mast antenna. Don’t want to drill a hole in my fender…

You're not drilling a hole into anything. You use existing hole. Quick Google search gives plenty of options

Your antenna needs to mount to part of the structure of the car that's metal, it's a ground plane antenna type, and the "plane" in this is the chassis and body.

I use a magnetic one that sticks to the top edge of the bed in the middle of the sliding window…works good.

Did it again. “Mojave”. I had the sticker removed from my hood before I picked it up…

Go with GMRS. That's what everyone is running. Hardly anyone is running CB anymore. And if they are, they are also running GMRS.

* - Offer does not apply to the old farts running Moab Easter Jeep Safari, who are still using CB like it's 1974.

The right radio to run is the one people use most where you wheel. My GMRS is useless if everyone around me is on CB or Ham.
