Mojave hood works well for ventilation too. There are many ventilation hoods that have been used recently like for the Charger, Challenger,Durango,WK2 SRT & Limited X Grand Cherokee.

You could be crafty and use this for the Mojave hood cutoff the duct end and extend it through the rubber flange on the side of the air box. It's the Dart Mopar Ram Air hood kit from my old 2016 Dart. The 2017+ Challenger T/A used a similar design from the factory.

Never have seen a need for venting the hood. It would pretty much be time wasted.
These have a cold air channel through the grill that's about that size. So thanks, but I don't see any gain, or need other than wow that's cool

To each their own but It's not a waste. It does a very good job venting heat and very low budget.

Venting heat - I wonder, why does one vent heat if there's no problem?
That's my question - modifying a hood to fix a problem that isn't there?
I've never thought mine to ever need to vent heat. And if my wife takes this JLU with a "Mojave hood", it certainly would not need to vent heat.

Now if I had a Rubicon hood on my Mojave - I'd take a way to vent air BACKWARDS out of the engine bay in the winter - it might just resolve issues with the snow plow. But a ram air hood scoop would just make the problem worse, not better, forcing the engine compartment to be pressurized - the last thing I want.

It's very interesting to see that people think these engine bays need to be vented to take out heat when they don't run hot to begin with.

Bill, the 392 hood is vented to the engine bay also , perhaps as much as 50%. System is called “HydroGuide” and is also the way water is kept out of air intake. The system has flaps over the air outlets into engine bay which close at low speeds. Is pretty impressive and I have the parts list for the pieces I need to covert mine over, just can’t seem to make the time , and also I could fab one up using the flaps and mounts, but prefer factory ….Jack
PS: I have a great Jeep Dealer that let me park my Mojave next to the first 392 Wrangler they got in and checked hoods out , same hood, holes are in my 2021 Mojave to mount HydroGuide in……Jack

Thanks, but this is Iowa. The only time I'd see water over the bumper is if I lost control of the thing and went off a bridge. Sounds like all of these things are for harsh off road use.
My wife's JLU will never in a million years see that. I'd have to try to find a place I'd find that useful for mine. Even trails here don't have water over the bumper, few that there are.
I'd only ever go factory on such a thing for mine. For her's, forget it!

Mine frequently runs the cooling fan off road. It rarely does on road, even at interstate speeds.

That makes sense - moving slow, no natural air flow through the radiator, and working the engine harder.

Yep. Pretty logical. It makes me happy I got the factory towing so it received the better tranny cooler.

So here’s the kicker. That optional hood isn’t just a rubicon thing. You can build a sport s with the power dome dual vented hood as well for $0……

All this talk about hoods and what truck is getting what and how many times it's changed and here I am looking at all of it going:

"Well as long as the truck has something covering the engine - sounds good"

😂🤷‍♂️

Not optional on some - it's forced on you with certain packages it seems. We never ordered it or opted for it - it's just "there". No idea until the build sheet was found.

Wow things haven't changed. Back in the day my wife and I ordered a new 1992 Dodge Shadow ES coupe. We ordered it in Spring/1992 and there were mid year changes happening for the Shadow model. We didn't know if it would come with the flat or power bulge hood. The brochure showed a flat hood as standard luckily it arrived with the mid year changed power bulge hood.

Ignore that piece of crap site. It's hardly ever right. I'm telling ya, we never ordered it and it wasn't an option. Jeep has a shortage of aluminum hoods, apparently
