Yes, and they are arguing about the best way to get to it. It's going to committee to decide, or they will check with us here
Well I hope they check with the experts here. The ones that clearly know more than others and don't need anyone telling them what to do because they already know it.

I tell ya what I have done , as I have installed 2 of the aux batteries , I eliminated the plastic pop riveting and went to body clips and hex screw heads . Then the fender well is loose in minutes and folded back and I am ready to undo the battery holding plate and , I swear I do this with wheel turn all the way to the left and I can have it out and in in under an hour. Of course I always charge it up over night before install generally taking it off when I am ready to switch bolt post.

I don't even worry about breaking those plastic christmas trees or even the other type - I've got so many spares. And I have a tool that usually pops them out in a second. If they come out intact, I re-use them. If not, who cares, I've got many dozens more. i had to take my liners loose for the parking light swap, tying into the TS and park lights for my plow wiring (the connectors are up behind the liner). I used to view them as something to be careful with and try to save. When you can get bags of dozens or hundreds on Amazon - why worry about them

Right from the top...remove main battery, then use your brand new 10mm you bought to remove that bolt you see down there...pull that cover and replace the aux battery. Install everything in reverse, using the 2nd 10mm you bought with that batteries, cause you probably lost the first one already.
Takes about 15 minutes. 😎

For kicks, I plugged the VIN number of what we ordered for my wife into the window sticker site and was shocked to see a complete window sticker! Real progress now.
Then this AM I got a call from our sales guy to wish me a happy birthday (he always calls me on this date) and he said "by the way, Barbara's Jeep shipped last night on a transport headed this way"
So now the scramble to strip all of her junk out of it (yeah, I spent more time cleaning her stuff out than I ever did cleaning up after my sons) and stripped most of the accessories off - the handle I made for the lift gate glass so she could reach it, and some other things. Then it got cold and I stopped - still need to remove the hood struts, her purple radio knob rings, her solar powered Rudolph from the dash and all of the gear and storage cubbies I had in it and the window-up module in the center of the dash. I'm not letting that go.
Will finish the stripping up tomorrow.
She again said "maybe we can swap tires" - but I remind her she'd still have the lift so it's still going to sit a couple inches higher even if we did that, and the gearing just wouldn't be right for 33" tires.
So I suspect next week............
I HAVE to get mine back on the road now because they are going to need her old one and the new one to swap over the power steps.

How long has it been since you initially ordered? Seems this one took a LOT longer than usual orders. It's only been a month since we ordered the wife's, and it's not even in production yet, but I'll have to do a similar scramble to return hers to stock once it ships.

Looks like it went Sunday, whatever they found, required no repair or replacement, because nothing is documented.

Is it possible that it was sitting waiting for some minor thing like floor mats, a decal, sill guards or similar? Doesn't sound like it was any big deal at all from what you say and what the sales guy says - just a matter of crappy timing and supply issues (again LOL)

So I personally do interior hard trim, it wasn't that, because I never looked at it.

It didn't require anything to be replaced, because there's no record of that.

So, every day, they randomly choose a vehicle to audit, and yours was on the line marked as sold, between that and the purple, probably why it was chosen.

The auditors, are the most nit picky people in the world, that's their job. If they see something, a mark, a gap, a scuff, something they think is off color, or the wrong shade, or anything... They throw a flag.

9 out of 10 times, it's all within spec, and someone looks at it and goes, this is fine, and sends it.

Anything serious, functional, your IP for example, it's not negotiable. It won't pass the function checks, there is no hand waving it away.

This was something like, idk, I think that door panel looks a touch too blue, or some other nonsense. And it wasn't egregious, because, again, it wouldn't be negotiable.

If they had screwed up the emblems, or decals, like I've seen people post proof of, there would be record of that, because they'd have to charge the supplier, or sequencer, upfitter, whoever screwed up.

I'd hope they are picky as heck - yes, and that's a good thing.

Years ago the factory where my father worked also made things for Sears - Craftsman. Sears would send reps to look things over, check records of warranty claims and such and talk to people before making a final choice on a maker for a product and get things on paper. At the time, Dad was a lead inspector on a line for where he worked.
Sears said ok, you get this contract with one condition - this guy is the head inspector for that line. I still have the leather holsters, pouches and so on of all of micrometers, taper gauges and other things he carried at work. He was picky as heck.

Jeep shows up with 1 taillight and missing a steering wheel and 2 accelerators. :bandit:

I have seen wild stuff like seats embroidered saying the wrong trim level. A friend of mine had a grand Cherokee that said overland summit on one seat and overland on the other.
