It’s what they should have done with the new Dakota. Just made it a Gladiator 2.0. I’d like something sized between the Gladiator and a full sized truck

I don't think that's possible. The Gladiator and full-sized trucks are already so close that it doesn't leave any room for an in-between size. As a matter of fact, the Gladiator is so big that it leaves room for a smaller compact truck similar to what Ford did with the Ranger and Maverick.

I drove a Gen 1 Tundra. A Gladiator in that size would be pretty slick. But, with that said I’m pretty happy with my current Gladiator. Every once in a while I wish the cab was a bit more roomy🤷😎

You could use Jeep's wide axles and have the body be full width with no flares. That would add 4 to 6 inches of interior cabin width.

Yes, but then you're at a full-size truck! My 2015 Ram 1500 is 229" inches. The Jeep Gladiator is 218" inches. That's only 11" inches difference in total length!

I know it will never happen, so let me get that out of the way, but....what if Jeep made a "scaled up" Jeep Gladiator full size truck with full size truck towing capability and payload, v8, expanded interior space, with the same Jeep aesthetics and off road capability? Same rugged interior/exterior design, removable top, etc. Would you buy one? Personally, I love my Gladiator, but yes, I would absolutely be interested
You forgot it has to have a Cummins 12 valve in it, no Def and a 6 speed manual transmission

I didn't say anything about length. My example was width. It would put it right between the current Gladdy and a full size.
Not saying I want one or that it's even needed. Just there is a little space there and it would be potentially possible. Probably not a needed size. But then again, it could be built completely on the Gladiator running gear. Which would help with price point. Could make a perfect platform for a Dakota type.

I'm not really interested in anything in that size. If I ever go back to a bigger pickup, it would be a 3500. Or possibly a 4500 or even 5500 to haul a big ass camper and pull a toy or 2 behind it.

So a Grand Wagoneer with a pickup bed.
I'll have to take your word on it. I don't really have a clue what size a Grand Wagoner is.

My friend Gemini saw one the other day and took a snapshot ;)

Ya know, I wouldn't hate this as a factory kit for a QCSB RAM.

In my opinion, making the Gladiator wider, as you suggest, is simply putting it in the full-size class. In other words, I'm not sure how you think making the Gladiator wider is right between the current Gladiator and a full size when both are already a similar length.

I think Stellantis (Ram/Jeep) has done a good job with their trucks for each classification. The Gladiator, for example, is a very capable niche midsize truck. The Dakota will fill the missing gap by offering a more luxury midsize truck. The Ram 1500 is a near perfect step-up to a full-size. The Ram 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 are all very fitting for their classifications. For 2028, Stellantis will continue to expand the Ram 1500 platform by offering a full sized SUV (Ramcharger).

My only wish is that the Gladiator, Dakota, and Ram 1500 were offered in regular cab versions.

But yes, I'm with you on the bigger truck. I love the Gladiator for what is, and I love the Ram 1500 for what it is, but its time to add a Ram HD truck to the arsenal. I'm either looking at a 3500 pickup or a 3500 chassis cab.

Reading this again that sounds like a more modern M715. If they could pull that off and make it just as capable on the trail with modern touches I’d be down to give it a run. It would still have to have that Jeep “feel” or it’s just another pickemup truck but a modern M715 would be very welcome in my opinion. Maybe a cab and a half or quad cab version.

There is 11” difference in front shoulder room between a Gladiator and F150.

The Ford Maverick has about 1.5” more front shoulder room than a Gladiator.

There would be a market for that type of truck. Many of us would prefer a utilitarian truck for hunting, hauling firewood, and doing other types of outdoorsy/off-road type of travel. I love the Ram 1500, 2500, 2500, 4500, and 5500 options, but as you alluded to, they are repetitive pickemup trucks without a lot of character. An actual Jeep truck with a lot of Jeep DNA would sell well. The modern Power Wagon is a capable truck, but it's lost a lot all character from what it used to be in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s!
