Issue started last week, at random times the 3 lights for service abs, traction control, and 4wd all come on at the same time then go out about 30 seconds later. Usually happens when i’m making a left turn but not every time i make a turn. Wondering if anyone has some ideas on what to look into. Before it started i had an issue where my volume would crank to max when i would turn. So i disabled the volume up control on my steering wheel, and this new issue started right after
what i already tried:
1) replaced the clock spring. First i figured that might be the issue because of the volume control problem. I’ve also had a small issue for a while where at random times the lights on my wheel would flicker and it would kick me out of cruise control if it happened. Since replacing the clock spring the volume control issue hasn’t resurfaced yet. But the 3 service lights still occasionally come on.
2) replaced the aux battery. Mine had been disconnected and bypassed for a few years. So i thought i’d rule that out but no fix.
3) i did replace the radio recently so i popped it back out to check all the connections and make sure nothing is pinched and shorting. But didn’t find any issues with any of the wiring harnesses but i guess it is still possible it’s pinching somewhere. The radio does connect into a port to get system readings from the jeep. So i thought it could be causing the service lights through that
If anyone has any other leads to chase that would be great so i can avoid an expensive trip to the shop
Update 1) it now airways to be tied to acceleration not just left turns. I’ve also kept on eye on voltage when it happens to check for a drop off but there was none.
