Agreed, it was a hard pill to swallow, but a local buddy had one and he said “it drives like a Cadillac, you won’t regret it”.

For OP, regarding skid: I have the Mopar steel skid and don’t have issues. Is Mojave different?
Pretty sure the Mojave skid is different enough if only to accommodate the remote reservoirs.

The Mojave comes with an aluminum skid and the remote reservoirs are under there. I had to alter it with a plasma cutter to get the ADD bumper to fit right. Steersmart told me themselves that I would have to grind the skid down some to get the attenuator to fit.

It just comes down to what works for you. There are a few vendors that sell packaged deals aka draglink and tie rod set as a kit. If you are pulling the drag link, replace the tie rod as well since you are in there.

I to like the aluminum stuff, Cavfab makes a very nice product. Any of the 2 ton stuff is using rebranded ends that seem to be custom ends for jeeps and don't seem to have a cross reference to a OEM model, so be warned in 15 years when the world has moved on, it may be hard to find replacement 2 ton ends.

Here is mfr best i can tell for the 2 ton ends.

I'm thinking about the tie rod, but it's still fine and there's a budget concern. Not that it would break me, but I'd be fine waiting.

I forgot Mojave is mounted horizontal, tucked into the skid. The Fox 2.5 "aftermarket" are vertical, with a bracket on the bumper frame.

Yup, but even then the reservoirs are pretty far removed from any of the steering components.

A little modification to a plate to make it steer a heap load better doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Now if it had to be removed entirely that's a horse of a different color.

I would need a little grinding to make some room is what I was told.

Terraflex, Synergy, Steer Smarts, Apex, Rock Jock, Core 4X4 and now i hear AEV has a kit for the gladiator. You cant go wrong with none of these choices. I would prefer the less maintenance and more material strength personally.
You put Core 4x4 in the same class as Steer Smarts, Apex, and Rock Jock?

Core uses good parts.

Apex Chassis TREs in their steering setups.
I was leaning Steer Smarts. Is Core good enough to compete or is SS better you think?

All the kits mentioned are good. As you know, I have an all Core Crawl set up. I DD everyday. I've done most of the trails at Rausch Creek, AOAA, and a few in Moab. Got 20,000 miles or so on it. No issues so far.

So it can take the beating on the trails and deliver on the road as a daily driver even with the crawl series. Good to know.
