I got a call from my local dealer and they told me they were placing orders. I went down there and ended up negotiating 5% below invoice on a Rubicon w/ a manual trans. Put the deposit down, and agreed on the final number. They said the order will go in during the first week a May. No clue what the ETA is, dealer mentioned anyone from 1-5 months. Anyone place an order hear anything different? I keep reading 4-8 weeks in the forum. I really hope that's the case.

Wait a sec, is this a recent decision to not get?
Nope. After seeing what my cost prices would be after the Travis discount I have for now decided not to buy one. Jeep charges too much, in my humble opinion. Look at the entire Jeep line of cars and this is their most expensive model. I got some back up vehicles in mind and I really don’t even need to trade right now. A year from now if the prices go down or if I find a great deal on a slightly used Gladiator then I might bite. For now I stay interested and try to offer helpful comments to readers here. It’s fun.

I am very close to pulling the trigger. I really don't see the need for the leather seats but who knows when you will be able to order a Rubicon without them.

Yup, my dealer contacted me Friday night and said he was putting orders in yesterday morning...kinda went overboard! I went back and forth on the upgraded wheels, and after seeing the one posted in this thread I’m really glad I did. Now to start ordering some Mopar accessories :)
I hope you negotiated a better price than MSRP. My configuration preview shows 2 columns of pricing...one for MSRP and the other headed FWP which I assume is invoice. Below that, there are lines for "HB" (holdback?), FFP (affiliate pricing), and EP (employee pricing?). I am paying the amount that is on the FFP line which is just slightly above the EP amount and far enough below the invoice column to make me happy.

I initially contacted about a dozen dealers in Utah and Colorado. As usual, some who advertise internet sales refuse to give a price online. I cross them off my list. Of those from whom I did get a price, the majority refused to budge more than $500 from MSRP. When a nearby dealer came in with an initial quote below invoice, I jumped on it and did not even try to get him to go lower. I did so, in large part because of convenience. I contacted dealerships up to 500 miles away from Moab. This dealer is only 120 miles away. My closest dealer is 90 miles from Moab in Grand Junction, CO., and their Internet Manager did not even respond to my requests for a quote. When I ordered my '13 Rubicon from a dealer in Denver, the Grand Junction dealer also ignored my requests for a quote.

I also noticed that your dealer is placing your order as a Dealer Order rather than a sold order. It is my understanding (and I've been told this for at least 15 years by numerous dealers, not just Jeep) that sold orders take priority over dealer orders. Mine shows "1 - Sold Order" on that line.

Gotcha - I’ll check with my dealer regarding the type of order they’re entering it as...as far as the affiliate pricing, yes I’m friends with my sales rep and my dealer is also my client so they are extending the affiliate pricing discount. Couldn’t justify a build like this at full MSRP!

Can you share the dealer name/location with everyone? Thx

Break out the spreadsheets.

Do the math - depending on your options 1% may only be $350 or $450. So yea the difference between 4% and 5% may not justify traveling...
and yea, that extra 1% for financing may or may not be worth it if the APR undoes the savings.
This is always a consideration someone must make. For instance, Dennis Dillon originally offered me 5% below invoice on my JLU order. Faricy Boys in Colorado Springs offered me 3% below invoice on the exact Jeep I wanted, but they had it on the lot. The difference was about $800 bucks. I did the math on the trip to Boise, including the flight, hotel stays, my time, gas, etc. and decided rather quickly that the one hour drive to Colorado Springs was going to save me A LOT of money when I figured in my time.

Now, if my family was coming with me, and we were going to make an adventure out of it, I might consider a flight to Boise and driving back with the family. Even then, I've gotta consider the ~$400 for a one way ticket from Denver to Boise, the $50 Lyft ride to the airport, meals, hotel, etc. etc.

Agreed. Same here. Went resto and having mucho fun. Just today the mechanic raised eyebrows twice. Building from an online menu is one thing. Building from history and imagination with scarce parts availability, different. Happy as a clam, but I'll be jealous.

Has anybody been able to order the accessories like the wheel locks at time of ordering so they come with from the factory? The last couple of jeeps I bought, they were available. Also.....has anybody seen the 2 graphics packages that they offer....I think its a star and something else.

I had Morehart Murphy (Durango) $400 under FFP pricing, Faricy (Co Springs) at FFP, Fort Collins Jeep at FFP plus fees. Grand Junction sent me a build with only MSRP column, and Flower Motor (Montrose) was MSRP. Sort of disappointed, cause Flower Motor and Grand Junction have been most responsive. Still leaning towards a family roadtrip from Iowa or Idaho ... Spencer (Iowa) got me a great price and Kent (ID) got my initial info late Friday night, so waiting to hear back on price. Discovered not all of my options are available so debating how long I hold off on purchasing.

Interesting. Grand Junction has been totally unresponsive to my requests on the last 2 Jeeps, including this one. I was also in there several months ago and asked a salesman to contact me when Gladiators were available. He did not. And when I visited them again a few weeks ago, another of their sales guys acted like he would be doing me a favor if he sold me a vehicle. Flower originally told me that "we are an invoice dealer" and that they would be able to offer a great deal, especially since a friend and I were each ordering nearly identical Rubicons. But when ordering actually opened, the sales guy at Flower said they had contacted numerous other dealers in Colorado and Arizona and all were sticking to MSRP or above. So it's apparently a conspiracy. The dealer in Silverthorne offered a fairly attractive price, but the dealer in Cortez came in under invoice with dealer fees significantly lower than Silverthorne. We ordered the 2 Gladiators from New Country in Cortez.
