I took the doors and freedom panels off Gladys this weekend. It was really fun.

I've been contemplating getting a tattoo for some time now. Finally set a date next month. My wife and i were debating which lower leg to get the tattoo on. She said she thinks it should be on my right leg. Well Gladys and @Bekah gave me an idea today while my wife and I were running errands. Imagining sticking my leg out and resting it on these pegs that @Bekah got, it dawned on me. I'll get to show off the leg tattoo much more if its on my left leg.
Tattoo will be based on this picture, but with my two boys climbing the stairs together.

I think that's awesome! Is this your first tattoo or is this old hat for you?

I finally installed my rugged ridge sill guards and Jeep floor mats. I like the jeep rear mats, but the driver side front doesn't cover much of the carpet to the right or front of the foot. Guess I'll be fighting the salt stains this winter. Also I don't think I'll be using that built in drain plug, but it sticks up if you don't plug it in......maybe next time around I'll go husky, weathertech or the like.

One note on the rugged ridge covers, make sure you push them tight into the contour of the sill otherwise they'll show slightly below the door. If done right, you have to lean down a bit to see them.

Albeit, if you got a 4" lift and 40s you might be able to see them more easily.

LIKE those sill protectors! :like:
I'm like you, probably won't use the drains.
Hell, I even threw the factory mats over them, figure if I'm going to sloppy, I can yank them.
As far as the coverage for the skinny pedal foot, it shouldn't be too hard to find a piece of materiel to just slide in there.
I like the whole turns into one-piece effect of the rear liners!

Hey @steffen707 those door sill protectors look great. Where did you get them from? Thanks to advise
Quadratec. I think they were $50 on sale then got a 5% off forum discount by emailing Rob from quadratec the order number.

Cool beans. Thanks @steffen707 Is that for all four doors or is that just for the two front doors? Hopefully they make a set of four.

Found them on the Quadratec site. Debating which ones to go with, different brand choices.

its been almost a month since Gladys came home with me. I thought i would give an update. I finally got around to selling the old white minivan. Amazing the contrast between 232,000 mile 2008 van and only the BEST OFF ROAD TRUCK EVER!

Driving to and from work with random around town trips has been such an enjoyable pleasure. There's so much to love.

The great stereo. I'm super jazzed about the Alpine system. I had 2 huge subs in my 82 buick when i was a teen, probably did some hearing damage. This "stock" stereo sounds better than my $1,500-$2,000 stereo I had 20 years ago. IMO, no need to upgrade any of the stereo/speakers if you get the Alpine setup.

Huge storage under the tonneau cover. I really like the rear board. I just flip the dampened tailgate down toss whatever in and it never is stuck way way back in the bed. If I do need more space I can just flip back the tonneau and pull the board out.

I've only done a slight amount of "offroading", but can already tell its confidence inspiring. I'll probably never push Gladys to her potential.

Endless aftermarket is fun, not only to make the truck my own, but to also enhance what I think needs it. I get to make it unique but functional. Other vehicles you have to severely go the custom route to make it unique. LAME.

I would really enjoy a soft top for hardtop or a soft top. Even though the freedom panels are pretty easily removed, it is KINDA a pain in the ass. Wisconsin doesn't have endless days of 80+ non-rainy weather. It might make me enjoy those times she's topless even more. We shall see.

WANDERING---------I only notice it now when i'm inattentively driving. In a way its a good thing. instead of paying more attention to the radio or whatever else, i'm forced to DRIVE THE TRUCK. lmao. When paying attention like normal its quite easy to counter steer and "take up the steering slop" before the vehicle wants to wander with the road to keep it straight.

Fuel efficiency - luckily i'm coming from an old tired van that got like 13-15mpg winter and 16-17mpg summer. I'm getting 15.8mpg with sport s suspension and LE wheels/tires. I enjoyed a bit of brisk acceleration the first few weeks, but now i'm pretty tame. I think people's driving routes and speeds have a ton to do with their mileage. I think the truck would really benefit from the Pacifica plug in hybrid treatment. Its coming doubters.

That's it for now. Now i'm looking forward to Alu-Cab's topper and @BuiltRight to finally ship some bedside racks. =) Roam side step/rails and possibly a front bumper....OH AND LIGHTS! So much fun, so expensive. Glady's is an expensive sexy tom boy.

i was going to start a new thread in the off topic chat lounge, but figured I'd just post here as this Pup is now part of our family.

So our new pup Wicket has some kind of bladder problem the vet thinks. last week he went 18 times in like a 30 minute period. He will pee in his kennel. He was sleeping on the couch last night and peed all over himself.

I haven't trained a puppy but this isn't normal is it? The vet didn't think so.

They did a bacterial culture test and apparently came back negative for a bacterial infection. They said he also doesn't have a UTI. So now they want to do a blood test, and next would be some kind of X-ray to see if he has an abnormality with his bladder.

UGHHH.........

I love this pup already and its only been 3 weeks, but jesus, he was $2950 (pure bread Lagotto Romagnolo) and now we're on our 4th vet bill trying to get this thing figured out. Frustrating.

Hey @steffen707 I read that with a Bestop Sunrider the frame of the Sunrider may affect being able to attach some grab handles. So I will wait until I get my truck and then try out some grab handles before I decide which one will work best. I think the attached ones from Mopar may end up working the best.

And for your short seasons of open air driving you should think about getting a Bestop Sunrider. No more messing around with the roof panels each time you go out. Opens and closes in seconds.
