It didn't stop me, however:

Per page 321 of the manual:
• Installing a snow plow, front-end protector, an aftermarket grille or modifying the grille is not recommended. Doing so may block the sensor and inhibit ACC/FCW operation.

I don't understand. Other parts of the manual clearly states that the ACC/FCW sensor is behind the windshield mirror so why are they referring to anything on the grille obstructing the view? Maybe this is just a carry-over bullet used in the other model manuals ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ? Whatever.

Probably has to do more with the plow and how the ACC/FCW are calibrated and focused. Also some extreme grills that extend forward to the bumper could possibly interfere with the sight line if the sensors. There's probably a portion of that that is for Jeep to cover their ass in the event that something has been modified and so they're not responsible for the sensors failing to detect something in the event of an incident.

It could very well see a reflection from the blade in the up position and freak the system out. Cooling in a blade up profile may also be dangerously marginal. Thanks Jeep!

I'm thinking the same... putting something too close to the front that protrudes up will be seen by the sensor.

That said... I believe there is a way to disable all of it...

EDIT: yes there is, in the uconnect settings you can turn FCW to "Off" or even just "Warning Only"

If this keeps some percentage of people from installing those ugly as sin, ridiculous angry bird grilles on their JT, I will applaud the situation over all.
I have to agree. I am not a fan of the angry faces...

Actually there’s some fine print we all agreed to on this forum when we originally registering that states...
A) as a forum member you agree to NOT swapping over to an “angry bird” grill
B) any forum member caught swapping over to the “angry bird” grill is subject to ridicule

You gotta read the fine print, people.

Haven't seen any of the angry bird grills on a Gladiator yet, and hope I don't. Wouldn't they also potentially reduce the tow capacity if they restrict airflow at all? Can't improve on a classic look anyway.

I wonder about any of those gill things like the flag that goes behind the grill affecting the air flow. I'm thinking it must have some importance that Jeep made the Gladiators wider for better cooling then anything you put in front even if it is just a mesh, would cut the flow of air.

I wonder if this applies if you dont have acc/fcw. Those arent standard on all trims are they?

I've heard of FCW slamming on the brakes when going under a bridge because it thought the shadow was a car.
