I took delivery of my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon on September 25th. Traded in my 2012 JKU arctic that I had “tastefully” modded and enjoyed over the last 4 years. I started having a few issues with her and decided it was fine to upgrade.

Managed to find a lower optioned rubicon, only options were automatic trans and slush mats. I was looking for a few other options, but I liked this price.

I did end up negotiating a black hard top in on the deal as well.

Week number one, 17”x9” matte black pro comp series 31 rims. The same rims that were on my arctic when I traded it in. I liked the style so much I ordered another set. They have a 4.5” b.s. which allowed me to run my 37x12.50r17 Ironman all country mud terrains on the factory suspension.

It didn’t take long for me to want more. I went from having rock crawler 3.5” lift springs with metal cloak duroflex control arms, durotrac track bars, bds extended break lines, Currie heavy duty tie rod and drag link. It handled itself pretty well for what it was.

So on week two I went ahead and picked up a Mopar 2” lift. Hoping it will satisfy my needs until next summer when I will start piecing together a better quality lift.

Plans are to build it as more of and overland style Jeep. Rooftop tent, recovery gear, essentials for 10+ day excursions.

Nice build. If you're looking at EVO suspension kits, I just had mine completed last week. It's an awesome setup.

Well, week one consisted of the rims and tires. Week two was the mopar lift kit. Week three was the tonneau cover and the programmer. Week four, I FINALLY have my hard top!

I’ve also now started my bed rack design and my rooftop tent build. Assuming it’s okay to include those builds in the thread? Even though they won’t be part of the main Jeep build.

I don't know for sure, i think only @JAY is a moderator, but @JP1 and I have put tons of random stuff in our build threads. If it pertains to YOUR GLADYS, then I think you're good to go.

We were going to name the Jeep Crixus, but my boys chose Gladys ‍♂
Crixus is probably hard to say for a 4 year old.

We can share the name. I'm sure there are way more Maximus JTs out there......well maybe not.

Got my mad max tonneau cover installed last week. Which has allowed me to start my next phase. Building the bed rack system.

I came across an entire truck load of 1-1/2 square steel tubing in 4’ 5’ and 6’ lengths. So I will be building my rack out of these pieces. Will likely end up building a couple different versions know me.

Since I’m a carpenter by trade, I started by building a sample out of wood to decide my angles and such. Now I will start cutting and burning steel.
I want to be able to still use the tonneau cover, and have places to attach gear. Which is why I went vertical before the angle.

Do you have a link to the rims? I can only find them in all black and 4.75 back spacing. Thanks.
