I took delivery of my 2020 Gladiator Rubicon on September 25th. Traded in my 2012 JKU arctic that I had “tastefully” modded and enjoyed over the last 4 years. I started having a few issues with her and decided it was fine to upgrade.
Managed to find a lower optioned rubicon, only options were automatic trans and slush mats. I was looking for a few other options, but I liked this price.
I did end up negotiating a black hard top in on the deal as well.
Week number one, 17”x9” matte black pro comp series 31 rims. The same rims that were on my arctic when I traded it in. I liked the style so much I ordered another set. They have a 4.5” b.s. which allowed me to run my 37x12.50r17 Ironman all country mud terrains on the factory suspension.
It didn’t take long for me to want more. I went from having rock crawler 3.5” lift springs with metal cloak duroflex control arms, durotrac track bars, bds extended break lines, Currie heavy duty tie rod and drag link. It handled itself pretty well for what it was.
So on week two I went ahead and picked up a Mopar 2” lift. Hoping it will satisfy my needs until next summer when I will start piecing together a better quality lift.
Plans are to build it as more of and overland style Jeep. Rooftop tent, recovery gear, essentials for 10+ day excursions.
