Hi,
I was hoping someone could point me to the right part number for the plastic trim piece on the roll bar beside the drivers door? My Gladiator is at the dealer due to the trim piece being misaligned so its rattling, and the steering box feeling like there is a dead spot which causes it to wander on the road.

I see the B-Pillar molding on the mopar parts sites ( https://www.moparparts.co/v-2020-je...s-pillar-cowl-1-4-panel-trim-and-cargo-covers ) but not the piece that is beyond it.

The dealer called me this evening and said they didn't hear anything, even though you can visually see trim not aligned. As for the steering, they want to put a new steering stabilizer on it. As soon as he said steering stabilizer, red flags went off since that's never a remedy for a problem.

Anyway. I plan on getting it back tomorrow and just ordering the part myself and modifying the resistance a bit on the steering box.

Thanks!

Not being insulting so please do not take it that way. Is this by chance your first live ( soild ) front axle vehicle?

LOL, I had I feeling someone would ask that. I'm not insulted at all, many folks probably haven't driven vehicles with solid front axles. I own or have owned various vehicles with solid axles with various steering setups inverted-y, crossover and both ball joint and king pin knuckles.

I did the old, have someone rock the wheel back and forth while inspecting the ends at the track bar, pitman arm, drag link etc.. Its either the pitman arm to the steering box, or something with the steering box.

I'm actually less concerned about the steering since I know I can fix it. I was hoping someone might have the the part number to that trim piece. If its $10-$30, ill just purchase it out of pocket and get it out of the dealer :)

First, you might want to read through this thread...

Loose Steering?

Second, if you can fix it, please help us all out and report back in that thread with what you did to fix the steering box. Thanks!

Sorry to be snarcky here as well (i have owned several jeeps going back to CJ7 and my steering is terrible on my gladiator) it's a little like saying "keep walking, you will get used to the limp".
