YOU ROCK THE CASBAH! whatever that means

looks like not a huge gap behind cab, and OMG, from that rear photo the angle of the top looks to be the same as the cab.....that would be mega awesome!

i'm trying to get a stupid options/accessories price list from 2-3 Alu dealers right now, then i'll put my order in.

your pic from the aft end is great, the lines along the side of the cap match better than i thought with the cab lines.

like you, i like the ability to clean the glass due to the size of the gap between cab and cap. however, the pic of the ARE seems a bit more refined. and the slope of the aft end of the ARE cap i think looks a little sporty. but, the utilitarian look of the a/c is cool...grrrrr.

so many first world problems.

i'm so thankful that these are the things i'm thinking about.
okay sorry for multi-quoting in multiple posts, stupid insert quotes is broken for me again!

anyways, I agree with each of your assessments. I think the utilitarian look, great cap angle, just enough but not too much room to clean glass, full hinges, load bars on underside of cap and an extreme amount of open window space is why i'm going Alu-Cab.

plus @smlobx has used them, has a Porsche or two, he bought one himself, and I wanna be cool like him. :CWL::turkey::handsinair:

ooh, can you open the tailgate without opening the rear alu-cab hatch?
No sir the lid rolls over the edge without touching it. Then behind that there is a weather strip to seal it.

not sure if I can mention the vendor I went through to get mine but if you need it I can message It you. Ok I am no way associated with them but their customers service is awesome and the info I got from them really helped me make my decision.

thank you for posting these.

between the three choices avail i've been completely up in the air. i think i'm narrowed down to the a/c and ARE. the one thing i question with the RDL is what someone else brought up, the hinge factor. i like that the a/c hinge runs the length of the door. looking at that close it appears that there is cover on the a/c hinge that would keep water from running between the door and the cap, would you agree with that?

Before the Gladiator I had a 17 pro Tacoma and a 17 Tundra both with ARE toppers and I will tell you this much their quality control in the past few years is horrible. I was pretty disappointed. I have a feeling the ARE is gonna be close to 200 lbs

If you go on the OK4wd site and pull up the Alu-Cap page it gives the base price. As you select options the price reflects the amount. Not all the options are there though. The slider bulkhead window is under the custom top page which doesn't list a top for the Gladiator.

Could you post close up photos of the side door hinges? Is there something on the inside or is it just a strip of flexible plastic?
Sure give me a few. It has an actual hinge. The strip of plastic is on the outside that stops the water intrusion when doors are up

Here is #001 Alu-Cab Canopy. I am very happy with how it fits and the craftsmanship is awesome.

OK4WD was my dealer and the cost was cheap couldn’t drive there for the freight charge. Yeah I’m sure we could manage to meet up. PM for more info

Ok I may have misspoken after looking it looks like a long continuous piece that runs to length of door and has two large pieces that bolt into canopy.

Thank you! Please keep us posted on the strength of that plastic after some time. I’m kind of surprised that there isn’t a real metal hinge in there. Hopefully it’s a part that can be easily sourced and replaced. I can’t imagine it will have the longest lifespan especially in cold climates.
