My stock Overland has been in the 20.x range where the x is 5-8 when my wife is with me, and 0-4 when she's not.
It's been pretty good - wind and hills make a big difference but my driving is mostly a combination of town shopping and rural roads and some interstate. A real mix of hills and semi-flat. Nothing flat or level around where we live.
I'm pleased with the MPG. I should be able to get well over 400-430 per tank at this rate.

i've been getting 14mpg, today i tried to drive super slow, got about 17.6mpg around town. Looks like coasting to stop signs/lights and very ginger acceleration from a stop seem to really raise my numbers.....WHO KNEW. lol

hypermiling . . .

Yeah, folks that are still on the gas while headed to a red light are wasting fuel and brakes both.

I like to accelerate to get up to speed as fast as possible so I spend more time in the light throttle cruise mode as opposed to the steady acceleration for a longer period of time to get up to the speed limit.

I need to spend more time on it, what you're describing is a hyper-miler technique called pulse and glide I think. Brisk acceleration (but not too fast) up to speed then steady cruise. I did this in my lean burn Honda civic VX, worked awesome.

I thought I was doing the same in Gladys, but at 14mpg, I'm doing something wrong, lol.

I just drove back home today from a quick trip to Nashville,Tn to Charleston,SC. Check out this momentary mileage, was going downhill and must have had a tail wind. Not too shabby, getting 66 MPG while going 73

I've had 99mpg+ while going 70mph+ on slight downhills. When you hit that sweet spot of momentum, accellerator, and lack of resistance the mpgs soar. But the slightest incline and you want to maintain speed and they plummet like a rock!

Yeah I had to laugh when I noticed this. Huge reverse bump when going uphill. Like I said “momentary.”

On 38’s. Around town getting 13.2mpg. Between the small tank and the gas mileage it looks like I will be hanging out at gas stations a lot more.

As an update now that I am on my 4th tank of gas in 2 weeks...

Current tank is getting me just over 24 MPG. It has gone up from 17.9 to 19.2 to 20.4... we will see how this tank finishes up. My last tank started right around 22 MPG range...so this is a lot better than exptected.

Mine seems to be trending up, I have about 3700 miles right now. Last tank wasn't great because we went up to the mountains; usually I'm about 85% city otherwise (not dense bumper to bumper, but definitely not highway)

Noticed that this subject hasn't updated in a while, thought I would throw my 2 cents in as I just got my Overland 2 weeks ago with 1200 miles on it presently. I live in upstate NY where it is fairly hilly and then becomes moderately mountainous towards the Adirondacks which I do drive through almost every weekend to get home, about 3 hours from where I work. If I fill up right before I leave, I tend to show about 21mpg after driving approximately 150 miles. But around my working area, the best I get is generally 15mpg, if I nurse it. I do have the ESS on, but rarely use it, most of the traffic around here is stop sign driven, so as soon as someone goes through, I'm gone. No time to just sit. Still, as compared to my 2013 King Ranch (sniff, I did love that truck) I sold to help finance the Gladiator, I'll take 15mpg. The best I was getting with the truck was 13-14, in the summer. Forget about winter when a lot of time was spent in full or partial time 4WD!

Sport S off the lot with 35 X 12.50's , 2.5" lift, and no speedometer calibration. Started out around 10MPG and thought ouch this is going to leave a mark ... Daily driving is up and down a mountain ( 1895' elevation ) , very little stop and start. Temperatures started to warm a bit, vehicle continued breaking in and slowly MPG went up, but still 12 - 14MPG mixing in some flat land traveling and some highway. Did the speedometer calibration, and now with around 1200 miles, averaging 17MPG, better if mixing flat land traveling on the weekends etc.
