Anyone else get a bit excited about their first Jeep wave they relieved from someone else? I just got my first one today as I was driving to get gas. It was near my neighborhood and I think the guy lives near me, white Wrangler. I was so caught off guard I don't remember it exactly, but I did smile a lot more than I though lol. Anyone else feel pride in this or even remember your first Jeep wave?

Oh yeah I remember the first Jeep wave but if you smiled like you’re saying you did just wait till somebody pulls up beside you and gives you a thumbs up or you see somebody taking pictures or even a video while you are driving down the road after awhile it gets old just kidding it never gets old just makes the wife mad because people do those kind of things

Wait until girls start doing it and the wife don't understand why your waving back as girls in another Jeep. They normally don't understand, it's definitely a jeep thing. I do remember my first couple of times getting waved at and I was like, why do people in Jeep's keep waving at me then I realized the jeep wave thing

What's real funny is when it becomes second nature and your driving your non jeep vehicle and start waving at Jeep's, becomes awkward then.

Lmao. How funny would it be if you put a name to every girl that waved at you while your wife was in the car.
girl waves, wife asked who that was, you giggle and say “Tonya”, then 2 minutes later another girl waves. Repeat process with different name.
That would be an amazing commercial. Lol

It’s pretty neat, but I do find it slightly annoying to try to keep hand hand at 12 o’clock. There’s a ton of jeeps around here.
Wait... are there rules to this? I don't drive at 12 o'clock. I will put my hand there sometimes and try to do 2 fingers but I've literally just held my hand up near the wheel to wave at people so far. I've seen others do it as well lol.

Haha. I don’t think there’s rules. But like you, I typically don’t drive with a hand at 12 o’clock. If I see a Jeep coming, I move my hand up there and wait anxiously for them to see me lol.

My JTR Either gets the “WTF was that???” look (Gladiators are pretty rare in my area still, but starting to see more now that summer is here). The “big eyes and Bill & Ted “WHOA!” look. Or the Jeep wave. Either way, it always makes me smile. :like:

Even with Covid-19, Here, were I live, the Jeeps are out, and everybody is waving to each other. Before Covid, much less waves.... Now, the Jeep people have really pulled together and I get a wave from every Jeep. Really, a cool community. Makes us feel good.

I’ve seen some people break down how to wave and that the lesser modded Jeep should wave first and that there are official waves. Which all may have been true, may be true or may never have been true.

I wave at all the wrangler models and all the gladiators, my favorite wave is hand out the side, like where a door would be on one of those awful cars that makes you have a door on warm days. Not sure if that is an “official” wave but it seems to be recognized.

This is my first Jeep and just brings a huge smile to my face every time I drive it, so you can find me waving.
