Houston, we have a problem - looks like same tires do and don't fit???
The narrower wheel is going to have a bit more bulge & didnt fit. The little wider one which isnt going to bulge the tire quite as much barely fit. I would label that one with a YMMV.

If one has a Aftermarket rear trackbar that could also account for it as a little bigger diameter tube there could make the difference when the tolerances are already very tight.

That’s what i found out i have Nitto Trail grapplers on a 8.5” wheel & a Rockrawler rear track bar it will not work so I’m putting it on a safari rack over the bed

I wanna keep the tire underneath. I kinda figure that if my aftermarket trackbar is an issue I will attack the other end & grind a hair off the hitch.

I made the thread I attached below a few weeks ago.... it shows my new wheel spare and a 35" (with pictures)

But there is a thread list, I saw today, of different 37's of what fits ... and what doesn't.

Seems like lots of people have 37's as a spare that fit... but man my 35' is really tight.

Lots of tires ...... lots of sizes.

My thread was to warn you, if you buy new rims to check that your wheel/tire combo can fit, and be mounted underneath.

Hope this helps.

I could probably do some mods but went another direction

After reading through these posts, my understanding is that you can fit a 37x12.5 on the OEM spare wheel but with bulge? Will tire shops even legally do that... seems like it would be out of spec/liability.

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a cheap ass steel wheel with the proper width and use that (especially if you are not rotating it)?

Or buying a specific 37 inch tire that can fit the stock steel rim without worry?

If your not rotating it use the stock rim & find a well worn, but useable 37 for cheap from craigslist or the facebook classifieds... Buying one thats already worn will make it smaller & give more room to play with. And be cheaper.

A 37x12.5x17 Cooper STT Pro on factory granite crystal wheel does fit but only at 25psi or less. I plan to rotate 5 so I think it’ll be fine after one rotation, maybe 2. Seems to be on the large side of the 37’s especially on the stock wheels.
