I've seen Plastidip and I've seen Overland/Rubicons with the Mopar Black Satin Grille. I have yet to see someone that has ordered the Grille + Molding kits for the Sport. Are those body colored pieces on a Rubicon/Overland? I'd like to see what that looks like for a Sport owner who didn't paint them, or who did... I just want to know what to expect. Has anyone done it yet?

Thanks! I see that the bottom molding stuff is all black as well... I presume you did NOT paint it? Also is it the same satin finish as the grill itself?

I guess the cheapest thing to do is spray it with plastic dip and if you don't like it peel it off.

Definitely the cheapest route... I have something in my head that expects mediocre results. Maybe I've seen too many half assed attempts on other vehicles and just think it ends up looking cheap.

I have a sting gray sport and I was thinking of doing the plastic dip spray as I feel confident that I'll do a decent job. I should have done it when I swapped the head lights for LED'S but still not sure if I want that look yet.

Plastidip can look good and last, but does need to be applied properly. It's pretty critical to get the spray tip at the correct distance from the surface, the number of layers, how slow your passes go as you spray, thickness, dry time between layers, etc. I've had mine on for half a year, and on some pretty long road trips, and only have some very small rock knicks in the finish, but otherwise still looks like I just sprayed it on. I'm glad I went this route first since now I know I like it, and will likely at some point peel it off and get it bedlined while keeping the outer edges body colored.

I’m confused does the behind molding work with Sports? I would buy it in a heart beat if it does but the description says it only works with Rubis and Overlands.

The sport grille is 1 piece (lower front perimeter trim pieces and grille/headlight bezels don't separate from it), so the way the grille, grille perimeter trim pieces, and grille bezels (around the lights and grille openings) attach is constructed different than the overland/Rubicon/Mojave models. If you want to install the satin black mopar grille on a sport you can, but the downside is that the bottom front trim pieces also have to be black since you can't swap your OEM body color pieces to the new black grille like you can with the other models. You could also pay a bodyshop to paint the lower front trim pieces from the satin black grille to match your body color, but that's additional $$$. I personally really like the perimeter pieces staying the body color, so I just plastidipped the interior portion of my sport grille black and had the outer parts taped off to keep them body colored. The posts above show that all black grille trim pieces, this pic I attached shows how the non-sport models can keep their body colored perimeter trim pieces.

Nothing was painted.
That’s the Mopar satin grill.
Bought it at BAM wholesale parts.

I like that light bar on top of the bumper...did you have to drill holes to attach and how did you wire it up.
No drilling at all .Attached with existing bolts on the bumper.
Wiring was super easy as diode dynamics made it simple to just connect to an AUX switch.

I too prefer the body color trim pieces. Your reasoning of Plastidip>Bedliner works for me and will probably be the path I take. That being said, the JT is on a train still and I’m hoping that in addition to their “all trucks have body color fenders” they also fixed this weird grill issue.
