I find it much smoother. Not Mojave over the washboard stuff, but I dig it. I still need to install my Rubicon springs. I'm running 33s (M/T) on 17s in a Sport S at about 33 PSI.
For the $200 I paid it was worth the upgrade.

Sport S Max Tow
It took a lot of the road feel out of the ride on mine. I would suggest installing rubicon front springs as well. I have a 2.5" ready lift sst lift kit installed on mine and done the Rubicon take off springs in the front and Rubicon take off shocks front and rear and mine rides better than it did stock. Also installed a fox steering stabilizer just to match the fox rubicon shocks. I love how mine rides. It left a 1/4 inch of rake front to rear on my Max Tow which is where I wanted to be for towing purposes. This setup and a set of 35's or 37's seems like a perfect combo to me.

Ill probably just do the rubicon shocks all around. I was hoping it would be a nicer ride over stock shocks

I'm just throwing it out there, but you realize they pair the shocks to the spring rating when they put the packages together. The Max tow stock shocks aren't a bad set of shocks. I didn't actually ride with the Max tow front springs installed on mine with the Rubicon shocks, so my assessment would be with the Rubicon front springs installed and Max tow rear springs installed combined with the Rubicon Fox Shocks, that combo is a better than stock ride to me. The Rubicon front springs are a inch taller than the Max tow springs and are a stiffer spring which could cause my comparison to be different from yours.

No, not saying you will have to replace your springs but shocks and springs go together as far as ride quality goes. Like a set of progressive springs would require and different type of shock compared to a linear spring. You can't just throw any old shocks on and just expect a good ride to happen, even if you get a expensive shock, they might not mesh well with the Max Tow Springs. Rubicon shocks will go well with the rear springs on a Max tow but I can't say they will or want mesh well with the front springs, that's all I'm saying. If you can find a set at a decent price then go for it. Worse case you can find a complete Rubicon take off suspension for around $300 and just throw the front springs on im your yard if you don't like the ride. Takes about a hour to do.

Yep. I plan on throwing my Rubicon springs on when I get access to the lift at the shop. Why do it in the driveway?

Now i understand, thank you so much for your input. I will look for a take off set and replace the front springs and shocks along with rear shocks and leave the max tow springs.

Because I don't like to wait and it's a pretty easy job. They went on the next morning after I bought them. But if you can get access to a lift that works as well. Two floor jacks gets the job done too!!!!

We have a pro auto shop at our school. I have done lots of volunteer hours down there.
Even had to assist when the old teacher quit. Makes me lazy when I know my old bones have access to a lift.
