Any update?
the dealer said there was a TB for this issue and that they flashed the computer with an update. They said they couldn’t recreate the problem before hand though.

I still noticed it when driving it off the lot. Since I’ve still noticed it here and there but it does seem to happen less frequently.

So not a slam dunk fix but I do think it’s slightly better.

Max Tow here, noticing the same transmission behavior. Really noticeable driving through neighborhoods (20-30mph). Clunkiness and rough shifts. Also the "thump" into reverse. Next time I go to the dealer I'll mention it and see if they can do the reflash that Justin mentioned above.

Mine is a Max tow as well. As you said, I noticed it most driving through neighborhoods. It seems like its still clunky but it doesn't seem as rough since they flashed it. I'll report back once I get some more miles and driving on it.

Mine seems better since the reflash, definitely notice a change. Still concerned though that there could be a larger issue at play here given I'm not alone.

Well, after posting that my Gladiator does this when accelerating slowly, I've been paying more attention again and it doesn't seem to be doing it anymore. I recently added the Mopar 2" lift and 37s. I previously had 33s. The speedometer was corrected for the 33s and 37s with a Tazer and verified with GPS. I cannot explain why, but the hunting is gone now.

I have a Sport S with max tow, so 4.10 gears.
I guess worst-case scenario I use this as an excuse for getting the 2" lift and 37's

I was getting a service transmission message and one day could not start my JT. I finally got it started with a check engine light and took it into the shop. They were able to recreate the check engine light and notified me that they believe it’s the TCM (Transmission Control Module). I should be getting an update on parts and when it will be fixed. Could be the cause of the rough downshifting. Will keep you all updated on what happens.
