Does anyone want to guess if it would do anything for seeing and stopping for deer? We have the nations highest deer collision rate in my area and I would take any stopping ability I could get.

I hope so - but have my doubts.

A deer cost me days of time, a fender, and a year looking for a replacement fender - thank goodness it was BEFORE restoration and not after several grand worth of work, parts and paint.
Shoved that fender back so hard the right door wouldn't open and the fender rode up and just missed the windshield by the thickness of a matchbook cover. This is after pounding things out enough I could run temporary headlights. I still had structure to straighten so I could actually mount things again.
It just missed a $200 fog light!

I don’t think so but I don’t know for sure. Some systems are designed to stop for people (I don’t think Jeeps is but might be wrong I can’t find a lot of info on it), so if it’s a special feature to stop for people I’m guessing it would be more work to make one to stop for a deer

Around here, this time of year starting early October - this is another Deere you have to watch out for...... it will likely beep and brake for this type of deere, though.

I don't know about deer, but a man was riding a bicycle on the side of the road in a 55 MPH zone. I was using ACC and my vehicle started braking hard. From the rear, the man presented a small target for the system, but it reacted. My guess it would detect a deer, especially it's side profile.

I hope no one gets to test your conclusion. I hope, and suspect you are correct, but please, no one try to prove it, ok?

Even if ACC reacts, deer usually dart across a road a fraction of a second before you get there. I know several people who have struck one and they said it came from the side. They never saw it coming. The collision happened so fast that ACC wouldn't hardly make any difference, in my opinion. False sense of security.

That's the problem - they come in from the side. At least DNR here says that fact plus they actually land on the road as you get there.......
In my case, the deer literally jumped out of the tall grass and trees (about 10-20 feet from the edge of the road) and landed on the road just in time for me to hit it.
There was no reacting - not even from electronics. It wasn't there until I was a fraction of a second from that spot it landed on. My wife is usually very observant and she hollered just as we hit.
DNR here says many of the deer/auto accidents they see are deer hitting the side of the vehicle.

In Iowa, they also don't usually work alone. One gets onto the road several yards ahead of you to get your attention and while you are prepared for that one, another jumps out and hits you.
It's sort of like a con game for them.
So watch for deer working in pairs or teams. They're pretty clever.
