Hello All,
Picked up my new 2021 Mojave last week, have barely 1000km on it and have noticed what seems to be fairly consistent hard downshift from the tranny when de-accelerating to a full stop. There almost seems like a slight acceleration prior to the full stop while the downshift its a really weird sensation. Maybe it needs time to break in?

If anyone has any insight into this, I'd love the feedback!

Don't know if this is a help, but was just looking through the owners manual this morning, and read the following on page 163.

"The electronically-controlled transmission
adapts its shift schedule based on driver inputs,
along with environmental and road conditions.
The transmission electronics are
self-calibrating; therefore, the first few shifts on
a new vehicle may be somewhat abrupt. This is
a normal condition, and precision shifts will
develop within a few hundred miles
(kilometers)."

Guess if it were mine, I'd swing it by the dealership to see what they have to say about it.

When coming to a red light from highway speed mine downshifts and I think it's 4th that feels pretty aggressive but it's also not something I'm used to.
I figure it's a combo of that gears ratio and the 4.10 together and how aggressive I am stopping. I have less than 1000 miles on my truck though.

It is a learning transmission, and it also does some engine braking. Ask the dealer about it, there may be a problem with the transmission. If they say it is okay, ask them to reset it so it starts the learn cycle over again. Then follow the break-in instructions in the owners manual, and minimize any aggressive driving during the break-in period.

I have a 21 Mojave and have been experiencing the same issues plus clunks that happen from 5th gear down through 2nd. After waiting 500 miles or so to let the adaptive learning set in with no discernible change in behavior, I am taking it into the dealership this week.

From reading the experience of others with these issues on the forum my guess is they will either reset the adaptive learning to factory and have me do another 500 mile relearn or worst case switch out the trans valve body.
