Max weight towing

Has anyone towed close to the max tow rating of the sport s with max tow package? I would like to tow my 24' car hauler with side by side and dirt bikes inside the weight is right at 7k. This will be only for short day trips but it has to work safely.

yep, mine is around 6850.

make sure you have a WDH w sway control built in, set up correctly and a break controller.

Usually go around 55 mph and don’t go over 60.

I have a max tow and just towed about 5000 pounds today. No issues and it felt solid. Get a good WDH and brake controller and don’t be in a hurry

Fun, fun, fun. My toys are wayb lighter even with gears. I got the max tow pkg in case I'm able to save enough $ to buy a bigger tt. You did not mention if you will be going through higher elevations going to your destination. If you are, I read that(and experienced) it will diminish engine performance(power), so you need to lessen the load.
I want to share my experience. I maxed out the Honda SUV tow cap one day. However, we often enjoy Big Bear Lake so driving or towing is no biggie. I used to have a vac house there. But one day I decided to explore short cuts and I ended up on a very steep hill and no way to back up the vehicle. So I went for it. My SUV crawled towing my boat climbing 5k+ feet elevation I have to tell my passengers to get out of the car! I made it, but it was a horrible experience! Bad planning, I am so glad nothing bad happened.
OK, back to your ??- maybe have a second car for your passengers? You are already really pushing it with 7k, assuming you haven't considered other weight factors. Remember, you have to add your gas cans, passengers, and other gears. Flat roads? I'd go for it as long as you don't go over the recommended tow cap. And hey, it probably won't hurt to bring another car for your passengers and BEERS. LOL. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply, I am really on the fence and probably won't purchase a Gladiator it is just to close to max capacity especially with a v6. It will only be used for towing on short day trips but for the price the purchase just doesn't seem to make sense unless you can use its offroad capability allot.

I'm going to tow a 6000 pound trailer in a few weeks. All in Florida at near sea level with a WDH and brake controller. I'll let you know how it goes. It'll mostly be highway.

Well, how was your towing experience? It did not happen if you can't show pictures! Lol!

Truck handled it easily. Used a weight distribution hitch. Trailer weighed about 6000 pounds. Only minor issue was with brake controller. Over-loaded it a couple times and it started flashing. Not really sure why. Using a curt spectrum. I just turned down sensitivity and it fixed it. In the past, I would increase sensitivity until I could fee trailer pulling truck when I stop, then I would decrease sensitivity. I couldn't get this brake controller to feel like trailer pulling truck unless I pressed over ride button.
