There are three things I try to not discuss outside of close friends: religion, politics and oil changes.

The redline folks will tell you that royal purple is shit, the royal purple people will tell you mobil 1 is shit, there's always some old guy who says he don't run nothing but whale oil and hasn't changed his since the age of steam but he is running a bypass filter system through 85 rolls of charmin and his oil is cleaner now than when it came out of the whale... some kid will post a video of some farmer running his engine on a gallon of wd40...

In the end it makes you want to talk about religion and politics again.

So no oil threads on an automotive forum? Ok, that seems reasonable.
If you’ve been around automotive forums long enough, you see “oil threads” go on and on and eventually get locked when they self implode. Oil threads are like opinions, and opinions... well you know, everybody has one.

Man, I was hurting a year ago when I needed to change my filter elements and there was no TP to be found (much less Charmin!).

Yes, I've seen that many times. But I love talking about oil. I skip threads on topics that don't interest me.

I've been at very extreme angles and never had it smoke. I have however seen it eat what I thought was too much oil only to find it is not just within spec but in the middle of the range of acceptable for high rpm use. Kooky little engine.
I’ve had it happen a couple of times on extremely steep ledge climbs. I believe it comes up through the PCV system. No big deal, just back off, let it blow out, then back to it.

Perhaps he's just a big L'Trimm fan and loves those cars that go boom?

I always had that suspicion about you. It's okay though.
