Ok I'm struggling here so much. the Glad w the 3.0 is what I want but I can not get past the 18 gal of fuel. My bloody Subaru has more capacity.

I have no issue with in bed tanks or replacing the main tank, but not seeing that option.

Titan offers a 33 gal tank replacement on the long bed Colorado's, and a 40 gal in bed system. But with the Glad wheel wells so close to the cab I'm not sure even that will fit. Transfer flows in bed will not fit due to that.

Any other options out there?

Look for the thread on the Long Range America tank install. There are very few options available for the Gladiator. There's not much room under there to work with unless the spare is removed and that space is used.

I don't believe that is an option for the Diesel crowd. There is less room under the diesels.

Hello all, i just ran through my first tank of diesel on my new JT. On a new engine i got 642km range! Thats on the 18 gallon tank. I thought of a larger tank install but now that i have info on how far i can go i will just take my 2- 5 gallon tanks with me if i go on a long trip. That will give me tons of range.

18 gal x 28 mpg = 504 to a dry tank.

I don't consider that great range. Add in towing @ 12 mpg and that's 216 to dry.

Out west, 216 miles is hardly anything. Back east or in the mid land ya that's 5 states and 300 gas stations, but out here that can be nothing (ya I'm exaggerating some, but it's not great).

On a Colorado build 33 gal is 924 and 396 towing.

18 gal is near criminal on the designers part.

On stock tires theres terrific range on the diesel. If you just want more fuel on board why not carry a couple 4 gallon rotopax

Ya hang on I need to fuel up with my roto-pax; pull over on the side of the free way at night in the rain.

Can't blame the designer.

What do you want to give up for a larger fuel tank?
Transfer case?
Rear drive shaft and axle?
Bed?

Everybody screamed for a diesel in the JL then the JT in turn. They aren't going to build a larger vehicle to accommodate a larger fuel tank. You either have to give up something or reduce the size of tank.

As aftermarket manufacturers are discovering, the diesel has less room to hang sliders, underbody armor, and such.

But it is a larger vehicle. With the smallest tank in the class.

Back to the topic, any ever have a custom tank made up?

Long Range America as stated above is the only option I am aware of...other threads on this forum talk about it.

I'd be surprised if you're only seeing 12 mpg towing... I just towed a 12" wood chipper around all weekend and was averaging 20 mpg. Love this engine.

On topic, personally, I don't see the tank as an issue--the mileage vs. the gasser is about the same. Not really sure what I had expected, but I'm not upset. My gf's Subaru definitely doesn't have more range ;).

I certainly wouldn't be opposed to expanding it, but might have to lose the 5th wheel.

I’m sure a fab shop would make you one up for a couple grand.
